I don't have this manual operation wrench hole on my 2017. Am I missing something, or does in not exist for that year?
Welcome!

As far as I know (and my 2021 Owner's Manual implies -- Post #17), the Emergency Open/Close hole only exists for the MySky.

But my 2021 Trailhawk has the Dual Pane Panoramic Sunroof, and it doesn't have any such emergency open/close hole.

So it would depend exactly what kind of sunroof you've got. Were they making the Dual Pane Panoramic Sunroof in 2017?

Yes I have the My Sky top (no glass). Not the DP Panoramic.

It actually (from the picture) kind of looks like it's in the middle of both panels / roof. I need to go look at mine to see if I have the emergency key hole now.

Mine, for some reason is making a loud "clang / bang / snapping" noise when I open the vent. Almost like a piece of metal is getting hung up on another piece of metal towards the rear of the front MySky panel. I've taken both panels out and looked around inside and at both panels and I can't see any rubbing or anything that would cause that noise to happen. I've tried to re-seat both panels and still the noise happens.

I'm clueless where this noise is coming from and now afraid to press the button at all.

Hard to tell. Again, I've (thank God) got the Dual Pane sunroof. But assuming the roof openings are the same for both sunroofs, it looks like the hole is at th rear.

Here's a similar angle on my Traihawk, looking toward the cargo hatch:

Again, this is the Dual Pane. I have no idea what those two caps are in the headliner behind the sunroof.

I'd imagine the emergency operation hole would be where the sunroof motor is. But while my 2020 USB Service Manual shows how to remove the motor, it doesn't show where it is...

I've had the same issue with getting it open and then not being able to get it to close. Can someone explain to me exactly what needs to be lubricated? My front one is motorized and can be removed manually as well. The back one is manually removed only. It really makes me mad I can't use it since that was one of the features I bought it specifically for.
