Sorry for the upcoming novel, but...
4/2: Ordered my Alpine White Renegade Sport FWD with Sound Group and black interior from dealership "A".
4/10: Accepted for build.
End on April: still in D1; told it'd be another 2-3 months, but they found one on its way built "exactly" like mine that made it to Baltimore...except it ended up being black - I found the error on the printed window sticker and notified them. Loved the sales team, but told them I would just start from scratch and keep an eye out. Said eye led me to dealer "B" whose online inventory said they had a white one with sandstorm interior (I didn't mind) and without Sound Group listed as "in transit". At this point I valued just getting one rather than features I was 50/50 on, as I was still driving my first car from when I was 17 (I'm 23 now).
5/7: Went to dealership and inquired about how close it was, and it was "a couple days away".
5/10: It makes it to a city <1 hour away, and I asked for its VIN. VIN got mixed up (two different VINS on two different parts of the body) and needed to be shipped back to Italy. They conducted a dealer search and found one in Arkansas that was the same price but with black interior which was my original order, but no sound group. Arrived late last night, did all the paper work today, waited for it to get out of their service check, aaaaand there was a small issue with both rear tires. Apparently they both had a similar patch of baldness. Doesn't seem to be that big of a deal. Replacement tires will be in and on tomorrow. Gave me a free rental in a (quite classy) 200. No pictures yet as I obviously don't have it, and I didn't feel like breaking the camera out for the 5 minutes I saw it.
MSRP: $21,685
EP: $20,383
After the tug of war between adding warranty (pricey!) and admin fee, but subtracting down payment, small trade, and college grad, I got my bare bones Renegade Sport for financing about 19k!
Certainly not loaded at all but I think I'll love it and I'm a "broke (soon-to-be) grad student"! Love how all the black trim (handles, grille, wheels) looks with the white body. Usually I'm a fan of black, but on the Renegade sport, it was almost too much. This will be slightly easier to keep clean, too!
TL;DR: I bought a Renegade today after a month of jumping through hoops. I'll post pictures once it is in my possession!
