My 2021 Jeep Renegade 80th Edition does not have the carpet secure tabs on the passenger side. I have weathertech floor mats that will move on passenger side only. What is the best way to prevent mat from moving. The drivers side has tabs that secure the mat.

I think the reason that the OEM clips are there on the driver's side only is to make sure the mat doesn't slip and interfere with the pedals. There's no safety need for that on the passenger side.

Aftermarket mats may have some kind of teeth on the bottom to keep them from easily slipping on the passenger side...

The OEM rubber mat on the passenger side of my 2021 Trailhawk doesn't have anything holding it in place -- just the shape of the mat...

Do they have them on both sides in Europe? Or even just the UK/Ireland/Malta etc.?

If so, then it's another mysterious difference. The driver's and passenger sides of the floor are different, due to pedals, etc. Just mirror-image in LHD countries, so the floor mats would be mirror-image too. And if they have the clops on both sides there, why not do that worldwide?

Looking at the WeatherTech floor mats for the Renegade that Russell Farrell has...

...it looks like they're even more form-fitting than the OEM ones I've got; so I wouldn't expect them to slide on the passenger side any more than on the driver's side.

And I don't see any holes in the WeatherTech mat for the clips that are there on the Renegade driver's side floor.

Just to add to the conversation - any of the matts I've bought for my UK RHD came with two holes on both driver and passenger side. I only have the pegs on the driver side.
I was hoping you or puddlesplasher would chime in regarding the UK.

Were those mats OEM, or aftermarket?

Either way, they wouldn't be interchangeable -- so why holes in both left- and right-side mats?

I think they have them both sides in Europe because they need them for UK cars anyway?
Did you mean holes in mats (OEM or aftermarket); or pegs on the floors?

My OEM rubber mats look like this:

Totally different shapes in front, left vs. right. And holes only in the left (driver's).

My ones are aftermarket so I've ripped this image off eBay, but it seems even our OEM genuine matts have the holes in both left + right.

I guess US Jeeps are 50¢ cheaper to manufacture than European ones?
Ha!

So now we've got North American-market Renegades with holes and studs just on the driver's side.

And European LHD ones with holes and posts on both sides.

And UK RHD ones with mat holes on both sides, but posts just on the driver's side.

I give up...

Maybe there's some obscure EU regulation requiring mats on both sides to be fastened to the floor...?
