Hi,

For Canadians and those who are in the Montreal region :

I talked to a sales at one Jeep dealer here that I got his contact from a friend.

He said that the Renegade won`t be in Montreal Showrooms before 3 months from now... So I presume, not before May.

He also mentioned that the Trailhawk will be very rare to find at dealers here for a test drive as it will be a special order... Yet if they get one, that should be at the far end of the release... That means to me late summer...

All in all, he estimates the Trailhawk around 32.000 Canadian $ and with Qc Prov + fed taxes and fees around 38k (CA$) if I am not mistaken...

All in all, I will go and test drive it when out but I doubt I will buy it for this price considering that the Trailhawk is my objective in this model and other trims are irrelevant to my needs

Thought sharing with fellow Canadians :)

Cheers

Doesn't seem like there are many other options as far as CUVs that have off-road capability on the market. If you don't get the Renegade are you going to look into a CUV from another brand?

My guess from a week or so back wasn't too far off... I figured $31,xxx for a TH with an option group or two, and about $34-35,000 loaded with leather, etc.

Quite frankly, it's turning me away from the Renegade. (Of course, it all depends on what the street pricing will end up being...)

My reason for looking at the Renegade is the true off-road capability it has over anything else like it. But personally, for these kinds of prices it's not worth it. I'd like the chance to go off-road, but at thirty-something thousand dollars I can pick up a pretty sweet AWD sedan that is capable of doing everything (and more) that a Renegade can short of climb rocks and drive through 19" of water.

Well, I think we finally decided to drop the Renegade TH and go for a more modest and generic SUV with a fair generic AWD... Not a Jeep though because we tasted the lack of reliability after 4 years with our present Jeep...

We thought that spending as much as 38K on a SUV with AWD is better for a long term investment and family practicality, than to pay that money for a small one with the Renegade TH serious capability.

I mean I need some fair ground clearance and AWD capability for moderate off-roading (for my small game hunting during fall season)... I won't be doing radical off-roading like rocks crawling etc. I just go on some rough trails in the Wild Reserves up there... My Patriot with basic manually activated 4x4 does the job pretty well...

We looked at the Subaru Forester, then went bigger for the Outback 2015 and I fell in love with its space, handling, capability and versatility. However my wife did not like either of those (in terms of look)... Oh well :-/

Therefore we finally agreed that the Nissan Rogue 2015 AWD is more than capable for my outdoors needs (based on reviews), roomy and comfortable either for my outdoors activity or family commuting or winter of Montreal...

We thought that a Rogue SL is a much more valuable compromise for features vs size vs comfort vs versatility vs price... Yet the price of a Rogue SL is similar to the predicted price of the Renegade TH.

However as I mentioned, I am still curious to test drive this little one when available here...

Cheers

I think that Subaru offers the only alternative if people are looking off-road capability still. I would imagine a lot of people will take a look at that brand's offerings if they find that the Renegade is too expensive. Any other brands that you guys could see people looking into?
