Hello All!

My name is Melissa aka "Renny" and I'm from Boston, MA. I've had Renny as a nickname since 2008. It was developed from my old Jeep Liberty Renegade and has stuck since then! I ran this beauty until it's sad death, then went to a 2010 Subaru Impreza 2.5i. Let me tell you, the Subaru doesn't come close to being as good in the snow as my old Renny. This is why I can't wait for the new Renegade to come out! I've attached photos of my old baby and Subaru, and can't wait until I can attach photo's of my new 2015 Renegade! Cheers to all! :)

Welcome to the forum. Nice transition from car to car. I think you and your upcoming Renny will be very happy together navigating Boston streets.

And I'm now completing major drivetrain components replacement into my Liberty Ltd. cause I just can't let go. Living on the NorthEast Coast of Ohio, the last few weeks of snow have solidified the need to keep her. So soon we'll be a 2 Jeep family. :)

I've never had any problems with my 08 Vibe during the few years I've had it. I've put 30k miles (on top of the 76k when I bought it) and only ever had to do maintenance things like brakes, head lights, etc. I think its outdated for its year :S

I feel the same exact way, Why Jay. I'm afraid of the Renegade being nothing like my Liberty Renegade in the toughness category. My Liberty would go anywhere! I'm debating getting a used Liberty or waiting a bit to buy the Renegade. I definitely am confused on this one, however, I know either Jeep will much better in the toughness category than my Subi!

I often look at other cars and listen to people talk about theirs and get envious of the fuel consumption, the handling, the technology etc and then I load up my Liberty with dog and kids, put bikes and a canoe on the roof and head for the hills through whatever weather can be thrown at me and I think "This is why I drive this car. This is what a Jeep is about". If they can also put that life-proof feeling into the renegade, given its tech and fuel consumption, I'll be mightily impressed and, so far, most of the reviews I've read comment on a feeling of solidity so here's hoping.

One thing i'll be on the look out for are virtual courses that Jeep sets up where people can test the Renegade.
Some car makers do that and it will be best for Jeep if they do that as well here.

Having both a 2011 Liberty and 2011 Patriot, the liberty feels and drives much heavier than the Patriot and I live in a snow belt. It makes the Liberty feel more planted as the Patriot tends to feel like it wants to float more, however I like the FWD/AWD of the Patriot VS having to lock the Lib into 4WD. I rarely lock the Patriot in 4WD in the snow.
I bring this up because the Renegade is pretty close to the Patriot in size and I believe a slightly shorter wheel base, plus its lighter. I'm thinking its going to handle more like the Patriot than the Liberty.
