I have a 2020 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk Diesel with the cap-less system, and the AdBlue(FYI).
While the fuel door cover does have a plastic shaft(male) that couples with a plastic "receiver" on the car's side; there is no lock or locking mechanism. This would be a perfect place for some kind of locking pin to join these two parts.
As you can see in the pics there is a rubber spring thing that just kind of lifts the cover when pressed, and nothing else. I tried locking the car, thinking maybe there was some kind of magnetic system, but no. I tried locking the car and I could still open the cover with my finger, leaving the rubber spring thing depressed. I called the dealer and they said all the renegades are like this and they don't know of any one that actually locks. (The guy on the phone actually initially assumed that it locked and he walked over to a showroom car and checked to confirm that it does not.)
So....
1. Is there a part that exists that makes these plastic parts a lock? That I don't have or that I neglected to order from Jeep?
2. Has anyone fixed this?
3. Does anyone have the same thing BUT with a lock?
4. Any suggestions???
