I just got a notification on my phone Jeep app saying there is a safety recall for the fuel pump module for 2017-2018 Renegades. Of course, in true FCA fashion, it also states "repair parts not available". Naturally....

Has anyone else received this notification ?

No notifications. I can check at work Friday if I remember. lol

Have you seen TSB and recall lists on other vehicles? A lot of them make the Renegade look like the most reliable, trouble free vehicle on the road. No joke.

Ironically, I was just at the dealer a couple days before and specifically asked them to check for any TSB's or recalls. They said "Nope".

Things that make you go hmmmm.

I checked Alldata at work last week, nothing showing up on the module. Less than one page of TSB's TOTAL for the Renegade. Ford Fusions have pages, and pages, and pages of TSB's. LOL!

Hey Mud Pie,

You can check for any recalls affecting your vehicle by visiting https://www.mopar.com/en-us/my-vehicle/recalls.html. If there is an open recall, you can click on the recall number to open a PDF with details on the recall, service info, the recall assistance number, etc. If you have any questions, just PM us!

Thanks for the heads up, Jennifer.

The web site shows the same recall that my Jeep phone app shows, almost verbatim. Even the "repair parts not available" statement. I did fill out the notification option so I can be advised when parts will be available.

Thanks again.

mine is under the recall. it also says, recall incomplete due to parts and remedy not available...this sounds like a serious issue, for them not to have a solution is unacceptable. i do not feel comfortable driving to visit family, or even on the highway to work. why should i risk stalling in mid-drive??

I'm on the wait list also. It's only serious under very explicit environmental conditions. You have to be using 10% ethanol fuel, high power demand in conjunction with high altitude and/or high ambient temperature, the fuel pump may experience cavitation causing a lack of fuel pressure. How comforting. Does it stall and die ? Burp and fart ? Vapor lock where it's totally dead ? They are keeping what happens a guarded secret. They're just telling you what the cause is. Ain't they sweet ?

In my case, I don't have to worry about altitude, I live outside of Houston, ain't no altitude here, this part of the state is a filled-in swamp. Now, I DO have high ambient temperatures, it gets hotter than the hinges of hell here. I rarely punch the gas as I try to maximize MPG. I also use ethanol fuel as most stations here have that.

Of course I want it fixed ASAP, telling us there is a problem but don't have the parts to fix it is idiotic at best and a big corporate CYA on the part of Jeep in case you DO break down. This is like going to the dentist with a severe toothache and the dentist says you need to have a tooth pulled, it's impacted and infected but adds, "I don't have the equipment to do that.". So what good is that dentist ? So what good is it for Jeep to tell us of a recall and NO idea when it can get fixed ?? CYA on Jeep. They didn't tell you to NOT drive it, they didn't tell you TO drive it. You'd think the Jeep idiots would know that ambiguity favors those not making the statement...they are liable if anything happens.

I did make sure my AAA card is up to snuff. Been a member since 1998, used it twice, but I fear I'll be getting to know the AAA operator quite well since I bought this glorious poorly-backed vehicle...

I am still driving mine daily simply because it's the only vehicle I have to drive. I have no choice and I'm seriously upside down on it (only made 2 payments so far). If I do get a notification when parts are available, I'll post it here so others know.

I just got a notification that my trailer hitch has a recall notice also.

That one made me chuckle because I don't HAVE a trailer hitch.

Maybe if I go they'll put one on ?? :)

Has anyone been able to get this fuel module recall fixed? I signed a sale contract and paid a down payment in early January and am unable to pick my Renegade up from the dealership until it's fixed. The dealer said it would be fixed by Jan 15th, then a couple weeks ago they said Feb 15th. I'm starting to worry that this may take weeks, if not months. If anyone knows a timeline or has had this fixed, please let me know.

I had my oil changed at the dealer on 08FEB and they acknowledged the recall and said parts are still not available.
