I find it funny all the comments from the haters of the new Renegade. Some are already labeling the Renegade as a "Soccer Mom" or "High School Girl" vehicle. The dumbest comment I read so far was "If this is what Jeep is coming to, I am going to sell my Wrangler and shoot myself in the head" LOL!

I was in the market for a smaller SUV that got good MPG. I was looking at the Mazda CX-3 and the Ford Escape. Honestly I wasn't aware of the new Renegade. I drive past a Jeep dealership everyday and saw my first one a couple months ago, a few days before I was ready to purchase one of the previously mentioned vehicles. I couldn't turn around fast enough to go check out the Renegade. It was just the right size, good MPG and looked more like a truck/utility vehicle than the other vehicles I was looking at....I was sold.

So this 52 year old man grabbed a Soccer ball and bought one.....do these yoga pants make my butt look big?

I see several comments calling it "Fugly" I say, it has a look all of it's own, unlike anything you see on the road. All these SUV's are starting to look the same. OK, maybe it looks a bit like the Element or Soul, but that's about it.

I agree Orthoguy. The renegade is special. I have gotten "hate", but I love driving my Rene and can see myself driving it for years to come :)
I am actually shocked that I like driving it as much as I do and make excuses to take it somewhere. It feels so much bigger than it actually is. And honestly it is a blast to drive. Good solid vehicle, very zippy, handles like a dream.

I love the look of and the ride of my Renny. I enjoy driving it so much I find myself doing things I haven't done since the days of highschool, where you would just "cruise" around with no actual destination planned at all.

Last night around 10pm I was like "who wants to go for a drive". It took me about 5 minutes to explain to my 9yr-old boys that we weren't actually going anywhere, I just felt like driving around, Lol.

We all got in Lil'Red and just drove around for like an hour. Windows down, music up. Boys were singing to the tunes, wifey and I got to relax and enjoy the evening air.

Can't imagine hating anything that lets you have fun just driving around enjoying time with your family, :)

You'll read a lot of crap from the Wrangler neanderthals, but my wife and I continue with almost daily compliments and comments from people about the Reney.
Just yesterday I finally got around to putting my plate on and going get a "brake tag" (local legal requirement) and the guy doing it kept asking me questions and staring at it.
He said he really liked it and would consider going take a test drive.

I remember when the Honda Element came out and people would say it was ugly, while to me it was beautiful in the sense that it was so freakin practical.
Then came the CUBE, then came the SOUL. My wife loved the looks of the SOUL and was considering buying one until we read about the Renegade.
Everyone has different tastes, thank goodness, and that's why auto makers make different models.

Well I'm a 44 year old man that always wears pumps with my yoga pants. ;)

But I have heard both compliments and insults. I have Wrangler buddies that have them lifted and heavily modded. Believe it or not they are not the people giving me ****. They actually are encouraging me to lift it and get some new tires when the kits are available. The people that try and make fun of it the most don't even have a Jeep and most don't even own a 4x4 at all. lol the ignorance of some people used to make piss me off. Now I just laugh them off. :D

Guys at work call it "cute" and give me ****. But then they will come look at it and make positive comments about it and then try and back track. Some other guys have gave me **** about it. But for the most part people are very curious and interested. This 26 year old male couldn't be happier with his purchase. Just need a lift kit to come out for it!

I never was a car-loving guy thus I dont know much about cars and engines. I owned a Renault Clio, then a Ford Focus. Liked them both because they were fun to drive and safe for me and my family.

But since we bought our Rene, I'm kind of obsessed with it. It was car-love at first sight for us (me, wife and son)! Even the little one who is just 2 years old, loves our Rene and always greets it like it is another person!

I think our Renegades are cars with personality and souls! We're lucky we have them!

It is true that a lot of SUVs look the same these days - Not the Renegade though.

I've taken a lot of banter about changing my Audi Q3 for the Renegade, but some cars just feel right - and it's in the right price bracket to let me add all the toys onto it that I want - like the Full-glass roof.

The Audi has been a good and faithful servant, but is ultimately a soul-less tool for getting from A to B - The Jeep is not!

I'm also 52 and plan to replace my '14 Grand Cherokee Summit with a Renegade as soon as the dealers get some stock with the tow package. Have had a Wrangler before and seems like the Renegade combines some of the tossability of the Wrangler with some of the comfort of a Grand Cherokee. Just deciding on color.....

Hope I'm not being too nosey to ask why? I love my Grand Cherokee. I love my Reney. They are too different "beasts" and I don't think I could trade one for the other. We regularly choose which to take for a particular purpose. It's like owning a flat blade and a phillips screwdriver.

I get strangers all the time coming up to me to ask me what kind of car it is... usually men. They get excited when I tell them its 4x4 and trail rated. I teach at a high school, and all the Main Office and Attendance Office ladies love it...even my principal who is a true man's man, outdoorsy, football star back in his high school days. He even mentioned once that all his Wrangler buddies loved the look of the Renegade, too. I even have Omaha Orange, which makes it even "quarkier." :) Fits my personality perfectly.
