Hello people, I'm finally glad to be posting. I've been checking out this forum off and on ever since I found out Jeep was releasing the Renegade. It's interesting how much you can learn about a vehicle before you even see it in person... Anyway, I finally figured I'd sign up now that I have an Anvil Trailhawk on order. I can't wait for it to get here. I ordered 5/19 so hopefully its not too much longer...
Ever since 2007, I've been a Wrangler guy. I attached a few pictures to show my "Jeep Life." Don't mind all the orange and green stuff, I just like having a little something that separates my Jeep from the rest. My first Jeep was a bone stock 97 Wrangler with 120k miles on it when I bought it. I proceeded to do all kinds of things to it as you can see in the picture. I did everything myself, with the help of a few fantastic people of course, except for the 4.56 gearing in the axles. I surely would have messed that up if I tried...so that was my pride and joy for 5 years and 45k miles. It ALWAYS got me from point A to point B without a hassle.
But in 2012, it was time to get sophisticated. I ended up buying a brand new 2-door, 2012 Wrangler with fancy schmancy AC, power locks, power windows, and even heated mirrors. I took this Wrangler on many surf fishing trips, it carried me through the snowy winter months, and it never let me down. However, I also acquired myself a lovely lady friend in 2012 and the 2-door just wasn't big enough to hold all of HER stuff(just kidding, mostly) when we would go on our little weekend getaways to the beach. But we dealt with it for a couple years until I saw a used 4-door Wrangler on a local dealer lot last year. Same color as my 2-door, same year, less miles, still a manual, it just had an extra set of doors. So I was in there like swimwear...I traded in the 2-door and got myself a 4-door.
And that's where I am now. I loved having wranglers and I'll probably buy another in the future to wrench on, but after seeing what the Renegade has to offer I feel like it's going to be more suited to what I need it for. It will definitely handle everything I have to throw at it and it will certainly hold all of my girlfriends stuff
But for now, I'm cruising around in my 4-door Wrangler until my Trailhawk shows up and I officially become a Renegade guy.
All in all, I'm looking forward to being a participant on this forum and helping when I can but I also won't hesitate to ask for advice if I'm having an issue. The more questions and answers we have on this forum, the better off future Renegade owners will be.
