Hi gadgio,

When you go in to see INDIANCARS would you mind being our forum reporter and working in a few questions about the lift they did to their Excape model (which started life an "Opening Edition" model).

1) Did they do the lift with just standard factory Trailhawk parts or was it something custom they designed that will be available as an option on other models they sell?

2) Is the wheel offset ET40, like the factory wheels or different, if different how will this affect the factory warranty on the drivetrain, like wheel bearings?

3) Does the 9 speed automatic transmission or speedometer require recalibration to accommodate the larger tires and wheels?

Thanks for your contributions to the forum!

Hello
I'll try to get those information but I do not promise.

Regarding your 2 last points I think you're right, bearings and other drivetrain parts doesn't like such big wheel modification and of course if the wheel diameter is modified more than the tolerance, speedo will not be reliable (it's not easy to modify speedo calibration)

Bye

Cal,
they started from an Opening Edition, so only manual gear on this version, this means no 4wd LOW and no HDC.
Hello from Cranbury, NJ and welcome to the forum! Your English is fine. Good luck with finding the perfect Renegade. I'm sure you gonna love it! Keep us posted on the updates.

With a manual do you really need 4wd Low and isn't simply downshifting caring for the HDC piece?

This brings up a new question, are Renegades serviceable at FIAT stores?
With a manual do you really need 4wd Low and isn't simply downshifting caring for the HDC piece?
yes, because 4WD LOW applies a reduction modifiyng the crawl ratio, so more torque on the wheels. HDC is a surplus, you can manage it manually with engine and brakes.
Yes here some Fiat dealers sell and do the service for Jeep

Hi gadgio,
Were you ever able to visit INDIANCARS? Can you please give us any feed back on what you learned about their lifted Excape Edition?
Thank you

Hello,

I try to... I stay about 20 minutes in their showroom but nobody cames!
I saw the famous Renegade with the 17inches wheels and the suspension kit but I cannot say more...
Same thing happened to me, Fiat dealership looked like a ghost town. Not one customer, no sales people and no customers. This was a dealer in Virginia. Went next door to the Jeep dealer and there were a lot of people there...there about 10 minutes. Walked back to the Fiat dealer and still empty. I bet Fiat will be gone within 2 years....
