I am going to do my best to make a guide on everything I add to my 2022 Latitude. I plan on adding OEM LED headlights, OEM LED fog lights, adaptive cruise control, power auto dimming mirror, and mirrors with the turn signal built in.

I came from a 2019 RAM 2500 and how I programmed it is different then how you program the 2022 Renegade. I am not sure what all years will program the same but this is how I am doing my 2022. I found out the hard way by programming the BCM and my instrument cluster started to say transmission issues, power steering issues, hill assist issues, etc and I could not drive it past first gear. This required a trip to my local dealer where they had to restore my Body Control Module and cost me 145 bucks for the repair.

I have since did some research and talked to what I call the Ram guru on the Ram forum who helped me add options to my ram.

First things is first before you make any changes it to Backup your Proxy and export your factory BCM settings.

I am going to try to help you get this done.

First thing is to have the proper cables. There are several that can be bought. Mine I bought off of Amazon. It is a FCA Chrysler 12+8 OBD adapter.

Also you will need an ODB programmer. You MUST have an OBDLink EX or MX+ in order to perform the proxi alignment if using ALFA ODB. The other models will not be able to do the proxi alignment is what I am told by the guru.

Last you will need an android phone or tablet. I am told you can use a windows laptop or tablet but I have not tried the windows verson. AlfaODB can be downloaded from google play store. The cost is $49 for the full version to do the programming

So lets locate your BCM. It is located in this area pointed out on this wiring diagram on the 2022.

When you look up next to your break pedal on the left by the steering column you will see the security gateway that needs to be bypassed. You pull these 2 cables out of the SGW and plug it into the red cable or your SGW bypass you have purchased. In the red SGW cable I have linked you will unplug the 12 and 8 pin connector from this black box and plug it into the cable. The ODB programmer will then plug into the other side of the cable and not in your factory ODB port. If you have purchased a different SGW bypass and there isn't an ODB port on the other end you will plug the ODB programmer in the factory plug.

How to do the Proxy Backup before you make changes using alfa ODB
1st open alfaODB and connect to the ODB programmer

You will select Jeep Renegade (BU)
Body Computer
Select Control Unit will be Body Computer Delphi/Marelli
Once you select that it will go to this page

Where disconnect is in red there will be connect and say status: Idle where the Connected to Body Computer Marelli is in my screenshot. Press on connect and it will connect and say connected to Body Computer Marelli like the screenshot.

Press on the under hood icon at the bottom of the program. It is the 4th icon over. Once in there will be a drop down arrow. Go do to Proxy Tools and press on that option. It will look like this.

Scoll down past all the text and you will see a Select Option box. Click on Backup proxy configuration and press Start it will create a local backup on your android device. It will indicate it is successful when done.

You will then get the location it saved the file to. You will have to use some kind of file program to export this file to save on a pc or save it somewhere. It is saved on your android device though if you just want to rely on it being on that. Here is the screenshot of what I got when it completed successfully.

Now you have a backup of your system incase you mess up something you can do a restore and return it to factory incase you have an issue with any programming.

If you hook your phone up to your pc and explore to the folder the backup was made in you will see your ProxyBackups. I did it 4 times in my example. Just pull one of them to save your backup just incase you ever need to restore your BCM.

obdlink sx works just fine, you just need both the blue and grey adapter. i even have used the usb cable to a usb c adapter and it works just fine on my android phone. there are other adapters that will work as well but it is hit and miss.

You shouldn't need the blue adapter since you are using an OBDLink MX+.
