Note - This project is not finished but making good progress

First you will need to remove the plastic cover that house the mirror. Mine has sensors behind it. It just requires you to remove three snap in plastic pieces that house the mirror.

First reach your finger in on the right side and remove the top plastic piece in the center. It is held on by 3 clips and just pops out.

Once you have removed it grab the top of the second piece of plast and pull it down. It should easily pop out also

Now grab the bottom of the plastic box and pull down. It is held in by three snap joints. It removes again pretty easily

Here is the picture of the cover removed and you can see the three clips that hold it on.

Here are the three sensors mine holds. I had already swapped the mirror at this point so the connector covered in foam at the bottom is from the power mirror.

So the factory mirror should basically pull off. I used plyers to turn the the right to remove it. I used plyers again to line up the connector and turn to the right to install the new one.

Here is what the factory windshield connector looks like. Of course this came with my power mirror and this is what is installed on the windshield.

Here is what the back of the manual or power mirror looks like on the renegade. It isn't a typical connector so glad I didn't try to by an aftermarket mirror or one with home link on it. What you do is turn it to the left slightly and then turn to the right with a pair of channel locks or something to put the metal tabs over the corresponding metal tabs on the windshield connector. Didn't take long to install

Here is where I need help. The harness I have does not have the factory power mirror connection behind the black box. Anyone know what harness I would need to add this or how to wire it in. There is a quick connection up by the headliner that I can swap out to another harness. Can someone who has the same 3 sensors and the auto dim mirror possibly get me a pic of there cable and there is a serial or bar code behind the black box on it. I think I will have to swap out for the correct cable to do all the sensors and the power mirror.

I am completely new to the forum. I own a 2015 Renegade Latitude. Recently, some idiot backed out of a parking spot, and damaged the right-side mirror. The glass mirror was not damaged, the controls work perfectly, and the blind spot warning light works fine. I asked my previously trusted dealer to look at the damage, but he was "too busy". It is obvious from looking at the mirror housing, that the right-side housing is in 3 pieces, but the left-side housing appears to be a single piece. Only the top piece of my mirror was damaged. The dealer quoted $75.00 for the housing (which he said was a single-piece unit, told me I would have to pay to have it painted, and an uncited installation fee!
The remaining 2 pieces look like they just snap together, locking into each other. Can anyone offer some guidance?
I love my Renegade, and want it to look new, again.
Thanks,

You should make your own thread instead of posting in mine. I am posted in the DIY and how to section. You will get more eyes on it if you make your own.

i was under the impression that all the correct harnesses were already in there... tho i read it on a forum like this and so it probably is inaccurate. ihope the harness you found works for you, my concern is that that harness plugs into the main body harness (or maybe somewhere else... this point still stands). i am hoping that the harness connector you are plugging into has has the correct number of pins already, or that your current harness is complete minus the wires needed for power. ether way, please keep us updated.

The mirror connection was not in there. I am still having trouble ordering the jumper harness.

If you can get the vin number for a vehicle that already has a auto dimming mirror there is a chance (small) that you could call a dealer with it... Provide them the vin, tell them the part you need, and they could give you a direct part number for the harness. The dealer would have to be willing to go above and beyond, and that is getting rarer and rarer. If you don't have the vin from the doner vehicle I can give you mine when I get back from vacation.

The online part sites don't dig deep enough to tell you more then generic descriptions. I hope that helps.
