I got some side (luggage) rails from a junk yard to put on my sport (like new shape). How do you pull the strips up? Do they just pop out? If so, I can then cut out the areas and bolt in the side rails....correct? Thanks for any info.

Check out this thread. This thread is about installing a roof rack not rails but there are some pictures of the roof strips removal. I have seen a thread about installing rails but can't seem to find it. I will keep looking.

Did you attach the feet to the inside mounts that were 36" apart, or did you attach to the outside mounts that were 58.5" apart?

Just did this myself...thanks to your research and write up.

Found the square load bars and fit kit on Craigslist. Bought the Podium 460 Feet and locks new. You saved me over $700 from what factory rails and crossbars would have costed.

Thanks for this forum, it give me the idea that there are sets of mounting bolts in there... it took me 6 hours total, but bought all my stuff from Amazon for a bit over $200.

After having this on for a while and doing some highway driving I've realized that a fairing is necessary if you use the square Thule load bars because it howls like a banshee over 90 km/h. I put one on (44") and now it's a quiet as stock! Also looks badass!

Hello, just looking at your install for Rene Sport, i just bought 2017 sport and may try this, just wondering if yours is still holding up well. Just a couple questions I tried to take the black strips off but it looks like they are glued did you have any trouble getting yours off? other question is you have an outside measurement of 58.5 and inside of 36. Im a little lost here, aren't there only 2 threaded tabs on each side. Just wondering what the inside and outside measurements pertain too.

I followed these instructions. and it was perfect. But I ended up using Yakima mounts instead of Thule. Let me know if you guys have any questions or need help.

Have now changed to oem style rails

Hi guys, the roof rails worked great for 2 years, however, I have now changed to OEM style rails.
