Howdy Folks. Long time Jeep owner. I've only owned Cherokees to this point. Still have my '97 Cherokee that runs like a top.

Sitting on the fence about replacing my Wife's '09 Escape with a Trailhawk. She's a hard sell as this is her 2nd Escape and she likes them. She also likes a new car warranty and I get a green sheet from Dad so here I am. Have to decide if we want to lay out 26-28k for the little bugger.

Welcome aboard! I'm originally from Illinois, but I've been transplanted to NY for the last 11 years. What part of the state are you from? I was in Chicago and its Northwest and Western burbs.

The Escape isn't a bad vehicle, I've been tempted by the hybrid version a few times but never went for it. The Renegade isn't proven yet, but it definitely is one of those vehicles that yells out to you and seems to have something deeper within that you just can't quite describe. I felt the same way about the CJ/Wrangler, and while they weren't perfect vehicles, they definitely had soul.

Ah been through there a few times, and stopped in at the CherryVale Mall once. I honestly can't remember why I went out there, but it was Pre-Internet so I'm sure there was something that I needed/wanted fast and was willing to drive out to get it. Sometimes I wonder how I survived before Amazon Prime...

What I find awesome here on the forum is the number of ppl willing to trade in their 1 to 5 yr old cars for a Renegade but WILL NOT give up their 15 to 20 yr old Cherokees. Quite a testament to the older Cherokees.
Dang straight! My '97 is a bone stock, low mileage runner. Oh wait, it does have navigation, it's called a windshield!

I loved my escape..didn't even want a new car until I saw the trailhawk.. Traded it in and honestly the only thing I miss is my heated seats! She will love it!
