Jeep Renegade Pricing to start at $18,595?

While Jeep has not made any official announcement of the price of the new Jeep Renegade, it appears that they may have accidentally posted the starting price on their website briefly. This slip up was spotted by Autoblog.

A starting price of $18,595 for the basic two-wheel-drive version would compete will with the Nissan Juke, while commanding a #3,500 premium over the Nissan Cube and %5,000 atop the Kia Soul base price.

When asked for confirmation, Jeep spokesman Todd Goyer declined to confirm the pricing slip.

Would you be happy with a starting price of $18,595? Do you think that is the right move for Jeep?

That's really good pricing, just about what I expected it start at, under $20k. I don't think they could have sold it for $20k or anything more.
think its a good starting point,
as long as 4x4 can stay in low $20k's and not creep up to mid $20k's
mid $20k's for 4x4 version its then competing with other vehicles including the cherokee
Low 20's will be ideal, I don't think they can ask for more than that, at least not pass the mid 20k mark.
id see the renegade to be priced just under the cherokee in the same trims and options

Yup, it's not too far off from the Cherokee. At least people have a couple of easily attainable options here.

For $22,990 the Cherokee seems great. Then you have the Latitude for $24k, Limited at $27k, and then Trailhawk at $29k
I'd say the Renegade could be JUST under 20k or 21k
to take sales from Kia Soul, Nissan Juke, Toyota... whatchamacallit probably need a nice version below $20k
I can see it taking sales from Kia, since jeep is known for building great vehicles like this and now they have a really cheap one, which likely wont be too far off from the price of a kia.

i think the starting price can be under 20k but im sure the top trim limited or trailhawk is probably going to be more

well you have to figure that the Cherokee Trailhawk starts at $29,990, so I would say REnegade Trailhawk needs at least a $5K cushion between t and KL or else you run the risk of people just jumping up to the bigger one for a marginal amount...
It would be great if the Trailhawk topped out with options at $25K.

Unrealistic.

With all the "nice" options I see a Renegade pushing $30,000.
same. 25k is too much to ask for. just look at cherokee pricing for reference

it will only be a tad bit cheap than the cherokee
I assume 5k to 6k cheaper then an equally equipped Cherokee, any less then that and Cherokee starts to cannibalize Renegade sales.

A range from 18.5k to 31K would be about right, imho.

Without going into detail, I'm guessing a Renegade Trail Hawk to be priced around 24-27K (before taxes and all that).

But the reality is I can buy a nice used Wrangler for almost half that. So.... Jeep has to watch where it steps. The cheaper the better for the Renegade if it wants my business. I'm in definitely in the target audience.

After reading the Optional Package Lists that some forum members have posted I'm revising my prediction to $45K.

And that's before the stealers start applying their mark-ups.
How do you figure it will be $45K. That would be more than a limited Cherokee. I think you are way off. I think max will be around $30K
Cherokee is going to be more with the V6 set up - I think that accounts for some difference. The standard packages I would think will cost the same.
What I'm trying to figure out is why would somebody buy a Renegade Trailhawk for over $25K when you could buy a Wrangler with more room, MUCH more capability, and MUCH more resale value, and MUCH more fun for $24K?

If Jeep prices the TrailHawk too high, they'll kill it before it's even out of the gate.
