Likely a popular comparison globally, except for North America of course Fords newest cute 'ute has been setting the segment on fire stealign sales from just about everyone and their mother. Much like Cherokee vs Escape/Kuga I dont think the Renegade will be able to eclipse the Ecosport on volume, but it should trounce it in every other aspect...

I think that the Renegade has outdone the Ford EcoSport in terms of design. I'm sure it beats it in other areas too, but I can't say for sure without seeing some specs.

I think its hard to compete with Ford on sales volume. Ford is just such a main stay brand. It's almost the default in America.

I agree, ford kept it too simple, Jeep went a bit above and beyond with the Renegade design which is a good thing.

You make a good point, the recent photo's of the Renegade spotted in the wild by a member here showed it next to a Ford Escape, the last generation, and it was just a bit smaller.
Not sure how much smaller it is than the new redesigned escape, but I can see people cross shopping between the two

The Escape is a model that is available in Norht America and could be better compared to the Renegade

Ecosport is based on Fiesta, Renegade is based on 500. Ecosport is not avaialble in LIMITED parts of asia and Europe, its available in ALL of Europe, ALL of Asia and ALL of South America. The only place missing out is North America, luckily much still goes on outside the bubble of North America.

KL Cherokee is in direct competition with the Escape, so logic dictates that Jeep would not build two vehicles in the same segment, ergo the conclusion that Ecosport competes with Renegade...

but hey its your dollars on the line, compare what you want.
