We have two competing pieces of information Doc! The Red Non TH Renegade Jeep showed in the press photos (I believe its a latitude) was wearing Pirelli Scorpion STR's. While the White Renegade displayed at Geneva is wearing Bridgestone Turanza's...

So I just wonder if something is missing or simply a pre production thing..

Hmm, very interesting! I wager that we are seeing pre-production cars that do not have the final tires yet...
As A Patriot owner, who's pat came with the GY wrangler SRA's.
Best upgrade one can do is get rid of the SRA's
they were mediocre at best, and surprised to see them listed as trailhawk tires,

Agreed, always my first move is to trade the OEM tires for something better. Never fool around with the contact patch :D For me its either going to be a set of Nokians or the Wrangler Silent Armour's I've got on my Ranger ATM...
215/65-17? That's only 28" and there are no AT or MT choices. :( Hopefully there'll be enough room in the wheel wells to upgrade to a 235 series tire.

you might need spacers and flares...

welcome to the boards BTW...

most OEM choices are never good, even the Cherokee TH rubber is relaively poor, I cant remember if they're AT's or MT's, but I do know that I had GY Wrangler AT/S stock on my Ranger FX4 and I traded them before I hit 500 miles.... Just total junk IMO
some narrow tires. guess its not a high powered machine that is why

I have the same thing on my Patriot and was not happy having to leave them on while my daughter drove it at college this year (lots of snow where shes at). I'll change them at the end of summer. It's to bad you can't order a TH with small cheap tires, save the money and put real tires and wheels on it. Thats what we did years ago because Jeeps didn't come with fancy wheels and tires, most vehicles didn't for that matter.:D
Yeah, most people want that upscale/custom look right from factory...but it kinda defeats the purpose of nice wheels since every car now has them.

I usually just trade the OEM set right out of the box an upgrade set. When i traded the AT/S on my ranger for silent armor's I kicked in an extra $25 a tire, mind you I've gotten to know the guy running our GY shop, but still something to consider. Just drive straight over after you take delivery. Might even be worthwhile to head over before you take possession to figure out what you want and work out a deal...

Good idea! But I usually buy lease trade in's so other people eat the depriciation and figured when I bought the Pat new with upgrade wheel and tire package I'd get decent tires, NOT! Didn't start reading about how bad GY SRA's were till well after I had them for awhile. I figured it was the nature of the Patriot platform and the crappy local roads LOL.
I love my aftermarket wheels and I know for sure with the Renegade I will upgrade from the OEM set to something more to my liking and keep the OEM set for winter and maybe off-roading.

This is true, I don't mind the looks of the wheels on either of my jeeps but the OEM tires are junk from the get go, even on the upgrade tire packages.
time to slap some of these on?

I'd love to see that happen and think it might be only a matter of time. It will be smart if Jeep does this just to show the potential of these.
you would have to find some miniature ones because those wont fit at that size loand i wonder if rims that small will clear the brakes
It might not fit on the Renegade when stock but with a lift kit it shouldn't be a problem
