A much more diversified selection of engines is available to world markets of the BU Renegade.

FIAT 1.4 MultiAir 4 Cylinder (Europe/South America)

Bore/Stroke: 2.83 x 3.31 in
Compression: 10.0:1
HP: 138 @ 5,000
Torque: 170 @ 1,750-3,250
Redline: 6,500 rpm

FIAT 1.4 MultiAir Turbo 4 Cylinder (All but NA)
*the world market MultiAir Turbo produces an extra 8 hp and 14 lb-fts over North American spec.

Bore/Stroke: 2.83 x 3.31 in
Compression: 9.8:1 (22 psi boost)
HP: 168 @ 5,500
Torque: 184 @ 2,500-4,000
Redline: 6,500 rpm

Chrysler 1.6 Tritec 4 Cylinder (All but NA)

Compression: 11.0:1
HP: 108 @ 5,500

Thanks for posting the info Willy. Unfortunately, as Tony indicates, we will likely not see the diesel, and more importantly to me, the manual transmission won't be available on any configuration for even light towing.

So much for globalization, the USA always gets left with the crap. I was really excited about this vehicle, but like many others, it does not appear to be available in the US in any flavor I would purchase. I really liked the Cherokee at the car show last winter, but I want nothing to with the 9-speed auto. Oh well, I suppose I am in the minority. As much as folks talk about the driving factor and experience, it seems like they purchase on tech factors these days (nav/bluetooth) and other fluff.
