I’m a big fan of keeping swirl marks off my vehicles and have been using a battery operated 110MPH leaf blower to dry my vehicles for the past year(I’ll use this strictly for leaf blowing now). That wasn’t cutting it and am finally fed up with it so I ordered a 260 MPH corded electric (will strictly use this for detailing).

When I first saw someone using a leaf blower to dry their car I thought it was insanity! Now I’m the insane one, but it sure works! 🤓

EDIT: Here it is in action drying the Yukon:

Due to all the recent snow/ice in my area (which never gets either), my all black Latitude was grimy. A local drive-thru car wash by me uses blowers to dry your vehicle. This car wash is the kind where you remain in your vehicle while it drags you through. I haven't used that type of car wash in decades, I usually use the type where you get out and watch it get dragged through then their staff finish up when it comes out.

The blowers in this drive-thru actually rocked my Jeep as they blew !! So much so that when I exited I checked my roof to make sure my antenna was still there. It was. But my Jeep was totally dry.

Would I use a blower if I washed it at home ? Honestly, no. When I first get a vehicle, yeah, I'm anal about everything. After a few door dings, scratches and rock chips, that level of caring fades. Now I keep it clean and waxed, I no longer care about additional dings, scratches, etc.. I do fill in rock chips in the paint to prevent rust. I probably wouldn't even notice swirl marks.

We call it a "garage." ;)
Ah, but in my garage I have a 1953 Willys CJ-3A, a 2005 two wheel drive Ural Gear Up (Russian sidecar motorcycle), a single axle trailer, a mint condition 1983 Honda Passport scooter (less then 1,000 miles, bought brand new), a full size table saw, full size drill press, 3 rolling toolboxes and two workbenches.

So my 2017 Latitude, my 2009 smart cabriolet and my wife's 2005 Jeep Liberty sit in the driveway.

You have a very understanding wife! Mine would never allow that! 😆

Oh, I understand. This was right after Snowmageddon in Feb 2009, in Suburban Maryland. Yardstick measured 26" of un-drifted snow:

That's our son's VW Jetta. We only had a two-car garage, and our two other VWs were in there. Three-car garages ever since then...
Wow! I bet you were stuck at home for a few days after that!

Oops, that was Snowmageddon 2010, not 2009. Yeah I was working down at DIA in southern DC. Wouldn't have been fun getting to work in the DC area. Fortunately the Federal Gub'mint shut down for a few days...

Not a good sign when you see a Maryland National Guard HMMWV driving up your street looking for people to rescue...

same here. been using a blower to dry the cars after washing. less contact with the paint, less swirl marks. gets easier if you have a good hydrophobic coating on the car.
I’m glad someone is with me here! High five!
