i was at the store yesterday looking for a K&N air filter for my 1.4 renegade. Anyone buy one yet? whats the best size to get? Thanks.

Also, Did it change the sound of the engine, and or HP?

I removed my air filter, did some L X W measuring and went to K&N website.
You can then look up air filters by vehicle type, etc or by dimensions. Find a filter that is closest to your stock filter as possible. That is what I did and it works fine. I have the 2.4L and ended up with a K&N 33-2380 filter. It seems a little more peppy and ended up improving my mpg by 1.5

I did the same thing and ordered part number 33-2380. The filter ended up not fitting properly and I had to put the stock one back in.

K and N filter

I read some where that a few members installed this filter on their TH but I cant find it anywhere.. I even searched K/N website and they don't make it yet.. where can I find one?

i went to pepboys/autozone and got a 3 inch opening hole on a filter there and it fit the tube of the intake just fine.

can you explain a little better?? do you mean you cut the box off and attached a cylinder air filter??

i took the top of the box off. put the cylinder filter on and left it like that. find one with a 3inch opening to fit the stock intake.

You have to realize that the engineers who designed the factory system are far smarter than you. The factory system is far superior to that thing you got going on.

Truth! I bet the HP stayed the same, or got worse, but he will get a more "grunt" sound from the engine at least! Needs a heat shield!
