Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) is looking to take advantage of the growing crossover and SUV market.

According to a report from Autocar, the company will expand its lineup with larger Jeep Renegade and Fiat 500X models, both of which will be based on the same platform. For Jeep, the next new global product will be a compact SUV launching next year that will serve as a replacement for the Patriot and Compass models. By late 2018, expect the American automaker to compete in the premium SUV market with a new Grand Wagoneer. The company is even considering a smaller model than the Renegade.

Fiat will continue to grow its 500 lineup with the new addition that might simply called the Fiat 500XL. The company is reportedly giving up on the idea of having a full model line like it did in the past and will focus on the 500 range. Instead, the company will likely target the entry-level market in Europe as well as competing with a low-cost hatchback model that will serve as a successor to the Fiat Bravo that isn’t likely to reach the U.S.

the Grand Wagoneer has my attention....timing looks like it might line up with when I'm looking to replace my Suburban. Hopefully the Wagoneer will have second row captain's chairs as well.

Seriously now, if the Renegade with fair equipment goes inside the 30K here in Canada, I wonder this one where its price will be!

Certainly no more Patriot / Compass prices...

I wonder if this "larger Renegade" will include a larger engine. I doubt they will put the 6.4L Hemi in it, but a 250-300 HP V-6 would be nice (and a manual transmission).

I'm going out on a limb here and say the engine and transmission will match what is available on the Cherokee.

Fortunately for Jeep, there's really nothing like this as a great alternative unless you don't care for all the Jeep things about it.

This concept looks dope! I don't care what they name it or which title it goes under but Fiat/Jeep should definitely consider putting something of this look into production

I doubt they want to stretch the hood that much. But it might get the hurricane/whatever sequels to the tigershark that are turbocharged and rumored to be 220-300 horsepower in a 4 banger.

That's what they need in the Renegade. It would be a force to recon with if it had that kind of power.
