Decided we may want to trade in our 2017 Lat......was a oil burner till they did the trans update ..... 2 nd we did have a minor cooloant leak that seems to have stopped.....So we test drove a 2022 with the 1.3T and wow it does get moving nicely etc.
Any opinions on the 1.3T as compared to the 2.4 which is in the Our Renegade.

1.3 is a good modern engine. But it will sound harsh when you rev the nuts off it.

You need to drive one to see if it suits you.

As with any FPT engine: Regular maintenance with oil/filter changes and it should be bomb proof.

The engine is the strongest part of any "Fiat" built car.

I have full confidence in mine.

I have 21,000 miles on my '21 and am happy with it. It does sound a little like a diesel at idle but that doesn't bother me. I was able to squeeze 31 mpg from mine in the summer. A co-worker has a '19 with the 2.4 and my 1.3T feels a lot more powerful. I change the oil every 6,000 miles and plan to keep it long term. I do see some performance parts coming out if that's your thing.

i have 23k on my 2021 and its been in the shop almost for 2+ months out of the last 12, when you have the oxymoron jeep cares only looking to social media to coverup the many issues. when it ran it handled fine , they could have developed a better engine but for the mini footprint it does ok. they just cant figure how to get the engine to stop leaking oil
