I want to remove the plate and fill in the lettering and then Paint it again. Any thoughts on a product or ideas of how to do it?

I've thought about it too. Don't know how to remove the bezel, but I would use Tamiya plastic filler. Check the modeling section at a good hobby shop, or I know Hobby Lobby sells it. You'll obviously have to paint the whole thing.

plasti-dip should give the right surface look. No idea on how to remove the bezel without harm.

It pops off really easily. Any non-marring pry tool will work.

I would like to do this as well. I love the interior, but that "since.." looks tacky.

I purchased an Amateur Radio with a detachable face (Yeasu 8800). I mounted the face over the lettering. It works GREAT for me. Maybe you could do the same with a CB?
