This isn't twitter or SMS, you can actually describe things. Like was it on before the oil change? Did the dealer perform the oil change and ignore it? (which would be pretty bad)

Yes, people have gotten the MIL lit. You either check the code or have someone else check the code. The MIL is the check engine light, not the change oil light. If you did it yourself and have the change oil light, there is a procedure to reset it.

I would absolutely recommend bringing your vehicle to the dealership, and would further recommend bringing it back to the dealership where you had the oil change performed if that light was not on previously.

Did it come on immediately after the oil change? Has this affected driveability at all?
