street date blues

I too have been awaiting street date info (like everyone else)

My best guess is that it will be late spring...Why? Well the dealer told me, even though we all know, they don't know it all.

But when you search online you find little or no real infomration on a launch date. Anything that had been reported is now past due.

SO...My guess of late spring. Fuel Economy.gov has no reference to the fuel economy numbers for the Renegade posted yet and that concerns me as I see it FCA is not getting the numbers they may want for launch and are tweeking the vehicle to get it tuned just right. My biggest issue is I've seen 2 other vehicles (non-jeep) get scrubbed in the last few years and street dates where always pushed back to offset the big anticipation of Product X.

Hoping for a winner here

First opened market

Maybe the North American Renegade release delay is due to
numerical availability, and not due to either engineering problems
or production quality issues. Maybe the demand in Europe for
Renegades is so far above expectations that all production
scheduled for North America is being redirected to Europe. When
the ‘First Market’ demand is finally satisfied, the ‘Second Market’
will be opened in North America.

Aren't North American Renegades produced in Brasil?

Not from Brasil

North American Jeeps are not produced in Brasil... not yet anyway.

Fiat are building/have built a massive new production facility in Brasil but I dont think its building any vehicles yet. Though the Renegade is due to be built there eventually. Also will be built in China I believe.

Renegades are only built in Italy for the moment.

The dealer by me told me that the Renegade is not going to be released in the US until the end of year he said that the US will not get the 2015 model it will get the 2016 model around November.

So who knows???
Your dealer is lying, he wants to sell you what is on his lot now. Check my latest post under US Rumors direct from FCA.

So sad. And people wonder why car salesman have a rep...

Jeep would not likely have the Renegade front and center on their website if it were that far out.

Not to mention new YouTube videos every week, etc.

I have a feeling pricing and online configurations will finally go live sometime around Jan 12-25 which will be at or around the Detroit Auto Show. http://www.naias.com/

I believe the so-called US Spec. delay had to do with building(buying) enough 9 speeds for the Renegade.

Italy will be the only source of the US spec. model until the demise of the Compass/Patriot
at their Belvidere facility in Ohio where the future C-Segmented Jeep will also be made.

Are there any specific things you really want to see once this information is available?
Specifically and in this order, I am really hoping to see price, availability, and efficiency.

Price is number one, because it is make or break (too expensive and I may just go with Cherokee, too cheap and I'll wonder why).

Availability comes next because it determines a few factors: Trade in or private sale of my current vehicle, and what type of down payment I can have in time for purchase.

Efficiency is last because I am interested, but my purchase does not depend on great efficiency. More efficient is better for my overall financial situation though.

What are you all looking forward to learning?

Price is going to be a major factor.
