Noticed a couple more bits that need sorting over the last few days and just thought I'd mention it so others can check their own Renegades.

- Reverse light has water ingress and there's condensation inside.
- Welding seam on opening edge of passenger door seems incomplete, leading to a slight indentation on the outward facing edge of the door. Hardly noticeable, but I know it's there and it's bugging me. I reckon the dealer will say I've dinged the door, or someone else has, although it's not on the section of door that would first hit an object or be hit by an object.
- Rattling/squeak on the dash has become unbearable at low revs now.
- Front left wheel arch trip has loosened even more and is rattling well at speed.

My dealer has been good so far, so I hope they'll sort the above as well. I just really wish FCA's quality control was up to scratch, which clearly it isn't.

Update

Just an update if anyone is following this thread...

Had the car booked in for rectification of the snags last week and picked up Friday... not impressed:

- Squeak in dashboard = sorted. It was the transmission cables rubbing together.
- Crimped/clamped door edge = not addressed and told "they're all like that, nothing we can do"
- Reverse light misting up = not addressed
- Scuffs/scratches on interior plastics = sorted (good news!)
- Marks and stains on upholstery = not addressed AND a nice new oil stain on the front passenger seat when picking up
- Loose rear registration plate = sorted
- Loose wheel arch trim = sorted (it was a missing plug/bracket)
- Missing interior plastic caps/plugs = on order, have to go back

Another issue was that I paid for new silver mirror caps and asked to keep the original white ones from the car. They were returned to me broken. As it stands, they're refusing to replace them as "there's no way that the mirror caps can be removed without breaking the clips that hold them in place"... my argument is the how am I supposed to change turn signal bulbs in the mirror without breaking the mirror cap off?

It's a bit of a sh*tty situation. The guy who I deal with at the dealer, and who was the one who sold me the car is really friendly and genuine, and honestly looks embarrassed when relaying the information/answers he's been given by the service side.

I'll keep you posted on how it goes... other than that, the car is great(!)

Maybe they need to hire better mechanics. . .

It turns out they are not LED bulbs on my Trailhawk mirrors. But you can be that if/when a bulb burns out, I will remove the cover without breaking it.

And if they are the wedge type bulbs (194?) you can easily replace them with faster acting LED replacements. Assuming the LEDs are quality ones, should have a longer service life, thus reducing the chance of removing the cover and increasing risk of damage.

I did this recently with the brake light bulbs on both of my cars. They light up much faster than conventional bulbs and I think it's a good (and relatively loc cost) investment on safety. A few milliseconds at highway speeds is a significant increase in "heads up" distance for those behind.

Being signal bulbs though, a load resister will probably be needed to avoid tripping error codes (maybe the CAN-BUS versions would make it a non-issue).
