I've just ordered some mud flaps, where i live i drive on country roads and get loads of stones being thrown up.....I think the mud flaps will be a good idea, but not sure it will spoil the look. What does everyone think. Good Idea or not?
I doubt if they would spoil the look.
They may reduce ultimate ground clearance but I don't think that is likely to be an issue over here.
There may be some drilling required.

If you like the way it looks, then it doesn't spoil the look, :)

I've never been a fan of mud-flaps. My wife swears by mud-flaps. It's a personal preference thing, :)

The fronts are fitted by drilling into the plastic wheel arch surround & then pop riveted on, so it will be difficult to remove them & you will be left with holes showing. Back ones use existing holes so not such an issue if you decide to remove them.

I ordered my splash guards on Ebay from QuirkParts. $78 for the 4 pc set and fasteners. Install took 30 minutes and I like the look. The pop-rivet was a surprise, but easy to handle. The stealer said they couldn't get them. lol

Then again, I have a 4x2 and my intent is to keep the construction debris damage to a minimum.

How are you getting on with the splash guards? I got my UK dealer to throw them in to seal the deal along with fitting and a full tank of fuel (for free.....nothing is free!!).

I'm now a bit concerned that at some point I might decide to remove and have holes left where they once lived.

No issues with the splash guards, definitely keeps the car cleaner especially the sills etc. Vast majority of my driving is down country roads so with the winter just round the corner these will definitely be a benefit.

Highly recommended. Less body damage and less mist/dust kicked up to the vehicle behind you. They're pretty subtle looking and square off the shape of the bumper, which I personally like. Mine were installed at the dealership, however. Hope this helps!:D

I got the Mopar mats - they use existing holes with the exception you have to add one to install the fronts. I had the guy at Krown put them on when he was rustproofing but I believe the hole is drilled in the plastic liner - not metal.

The flaps fit well and look good. Being as they follow in the track of the tires I would think that clearance is not much of a problem - If the tire pushes thru the flaps should follow :)

If you look at the lower "Cladding" of the Renegade you will see that it is just a large plastic piece and not simply a thin layer over metal. I would think it would do a good job of protecting the quarter panels. especially in conjunction with the flaps.

I thought about the Mopar mudflaps since I had them on my Ram. I couldn't justify $100 for all 4 on ebay. So I just got some generic $8 mudflaps from O'Reillys and they work fantastic, plus they are longer. Took me about 30 minutes in the freezing cold with a drill and bit driver. I drilled holes for the factory screw locations, then a top hole in the flap and the inner fender splash guard. Some screws from the parts store and they are on there solid.

I bought 'em (the stiff ones) but haven't put them on. A bit worried about snow ripping them off. If we ever get any snow. But good point @Oldav8tor on the flaps being in the track of the tires.
