I recently purchased a 2015 jeep renegade trailhawk, and by recently I mean like 72 hours ago... I have like 250 miles on it and so far have had problems, getting really frustrated and disapointed. 2nd day of ownership had fog light fluckering on me and the air conditioning and fan systemquit working. Check engine light came on. Tookit back to the dealership, they said it had been programed forthe wrong model and they had to reprogram the computer...left and seemed to be fixed. Next day same problem popped back up, I guess ill be taking another trip back to the service dept. Anyone else having these troubles?

Hey Apmo, sorry to hear about your issues!

I do know that the fog light flickering is usually just the "cornering light" feature doing it's job! When your headlights are on the computers detect your steering wheel angle and turn on the inside fog light to provide a wider light source for better illumination. I think you can turn it off in the radio or instrument cluster settings. The feature surprised me at first but I got used to it. It's pretty handy.

Hope the dealer is able to resolve your AC issue quickly!

@apmo,

As mentioned before, the fog lights are linked to your steering angle by default. They are actually a "bright" idea (I couldn't resist, trying to make it through the week). Har har. Can be turned off, but seriously, it's so nice at night.

Another person on YouTube had their AC not work as well. If the AC is off, and you turn it on, do you observe any strange noise/behaviour? I have already heard of 3 cases where refrigerant was not added to the system and it wasn't caught during PDI.

Ay, I suppose it could all be bad programming, but I hope they're doing actual diagnostics on your car rather than a knee jerk reaction to the problem. The quality control issues really are the most daunting to examine, and so many techs do not get paid for diagnosis. Much easier to reprogram and bill FCA for warranty than to doing some actual digging...

Good luck man !

codev,

forgive me for asking this question (brain not functioning due to lack of sleep), but when you say "can be turned off", are you saying that the fog lights can be turned off or that you can turn off the fog lights from being linked to the steering wheel. I assume it is the former but I just want to be certain.

Yeah, dude, I never sleep. It's so terrible.

The steering angle to fog light linking can be disabled via UConnect HU. The fog lights can be turned off be pressing on that button to the left of the steering wheel.

I really hate fog lights, but are really cool when they help you turn in the dark :)

I didn't know that. That is so cool. Although I'll probably leave it as is.
