Has anyone seen pictures of this sunroof from the top, showing it open? I have seen several pictures of the inside, with the sunroof closed. In those pictures you can tell it's glass as you can see reflections in the glass. But I have never seen any pictures or videos of it showing it open, from the top of the roof. Please post pictures if you have them or links to videos of them.

And feel free to place your votes for a glass My Sky and against solid panels that may be a pain to deal with.

I can just see it now. It starts to rain buckets while you scramble to get the panels out of the bag and on to the roof. Meanwhile your date in the front seat gets drenched from the rain. Yep she will be impressed with your car! And she'll then ask you why you didn't just get a glass power roof.

After looking through the US owners manual, it appears Jeep wants the plastic panels stored in the bag and tied down on top of the cargo floor. Limited to about 150 pounds of weight on top? Jeep would have to have a better system for glass here in the US.. What am I missing?

Are you guys forgetting that Jeep's most iconic vehicle, the Wrangler, has an incredibly cumbersome convertible top that also would drench your lady friend?? I'm guessing Jeep went with the MySky roof because it's more "Jeep" than a standard moonroof or panoramic roof. I think the powered MySky is a nice option and yet still gives you the option of taking both panels off on a day that's sure to be nice.

P.S. I've had vehicles with the panoramic roofs and they let a TON of heat in. Nice for the winter, but horrific for the summer.

Thanks for the info, good to know in hot, sunny Southern California.

That's why they have roller sunshades, heat problem solved.

Hardly. The vehicles I've had with panorama roofs did have sunshades. They kept the sun out, but not the heat. I'd only go with a panorama roof again if the sunshade was solid (i.e., not perforated like many are) or if there was some sort of cover for it like the roof decals you can get on MINIs.

Bizarrely, it appears that Jeep is not going to offer a glass roof version in the US.
This strikes me as a ridiculously dim-witted decision.

But to answer your question, I think I have seen photos of the European glass roof version somewhere here in the forums, and it's also google-able.

The "my sky" panels seem rather gimmicky and strike a lot of us as impractical. There are storage issues involved, and also, who wants to be driving with the roof open, and then have to stop and start messing around with retrieving panels from the trunk if the weather changes. It reeks of inconvenience and short-lived novelty.

I understand not everyone feels this way, but certainly quite a number of us do.

I have to think Jeep will realize it's mistake in 2016 and make a panoramic glass roof optional here in the US.

For me I will either wait until they come out with a glass sunroof or I may trade for something else with a glass roof. My Sky is indeed gimmicky, and hopefully all of America will realize how impractical it is and what a pain it will be when the weather turns to rain.

And forget leaving valuables in your car with the My Sky panels off. That would be just an invitation to thieves. And sadly America has way too many thieves. Theives will love the My Sky panels stowed in the trunk of parked cars. Beware - The vultures await My Sky!!!

Does Jeep care that we want a glass sunroof?

Call me crazy but wouldn't thieves be more likely to look for unlocked doors rather than climb on top of someone's car and dive through a hole in the roof?

People here in Colorado leave the top off of their Wranglers all the time without being robbed. Also, the MySky is easier, more practical and quicker then most of the wrangler removable roof options.

Actually, all the bad guys would have to do is to reach in through the roof and unlock the door.

But I doubt anybody would leave valuables in their car when parked with the roof off.

Personally, I prefer a solid roof and have no use for a sunroof, moonroof, or MySky.

I don't think its thieves but punks dropping crap in there like milkshakes, barf, etc. Just ask the convertible guys.

Still, when I visit places like Utah, it'd be nice.
It's for reasons like that which I don't understand how some people can just leave the top down of their parked vehicle and walk away, even more so the folks with uncommon cars in great condition.
