I tried on numerous occasions to update via the dashboard Satnav thats run by Tom Tom to no avail. It's now 9 years and never had an update.

Dont get me wrong!!! I now have a new motorway built beside my "area", I know it's there and I follow the road signs though it is not updated on SatNav. It clearly shows me running through rivers and country fields when I view satnav.

Were I to religiously follow satnav then I can understand why people are so silly.

It was an extortionate amount years ago to update TomTom and that was the one that sticks onto the windscreen.

Thats my point, I too have the Uconnect system and couldnt get the downloads to work. I was merely referencing the fact that it was a lot of £££s to update the window mounted TomTom and I believe it will cost many £££s to update Uconnect.
