While looking over fellow member markasylvers' interior led lighting photos, I started wondering about adding LED lights to the front passenger cupholders.

Looking around the web I see these with the Jeep Logo

But then I find these from Jeep-Core

So I contact he owner Craig to see if he will be willing to make a version for the Renegade and he said yes that all he needs is the cupholder diameter in mm's. It may be possible doing one with the X logo although its a bit trickier.

So can anyone do me the favor and let me know the size of the cup holders diameter in mm's .

Thanks

I got 79 mm

Tried getting it at the roundest part because the cup holders have somewhat flat sides...

I have a Trailhawk and I just went to measure mine. They measure 7.7 cm or 77 mm ;)

Good luck, upload photos once they're installed!!
You will be waiting a very very long time since I don't plan on buying my Renegade until I see a constant stream of Rene's with MySkys in dealerships. lol
I'm actually doing this for the members and getting all my DIY ideas planned ahead of time.

Now going back to the topic at hand, I assume that the top part of the cupholder is 79mm and the bottom is 77mm since in the photo it looks a bit wider at the top.
Or am I seeing things in the photo? Are they different sizes for each model?

I used measuring tape inside the actual cupholder, and originally I had 77 mm but then for some weird reason when I checked again it was at 79mm. Having gone back i see what I did, the rounded outlined portion of the cupholder IS 77 and the little extra space that I could see something round fitting in was 79. I have OCD... and precision kills me lol.

Yeah they do look good.

So I went ahead and ordered the cupholder mat part from Mopar, so I can send it to him to use as a test bed. I just hope I ordered the correct part. It seems that the parts list image does not correspond to the actual number.

According to the image it should be item # 20 but 20 according to the list is a Hex Nut. lol (and I thought Hyundai was the only one with messed up part list items that don't correspond to whats in their images. I see Jeep does the same thing).
anyway, I took a chance and ordered # 17, Console Cup Holder Mat.

Lets see how long it takes to get to me. If its the correct part then I'll send it to Craig and see if he can make a version for the Renegade with a proper fit.

A small followup...

The part arrived from Manhattan Jeep Chrysler today and I was correct about the actual part number and not the one shown on the diagram.

I contacted Craig and will ship it to him tomorrow. I look forward to see what he comes up with.

Shout outs to Craig at Jeep-Core and Manhattan Jeep Chrysler Dodge

Until the next update.
