I have a 2021 Renegade Trailhawk model and the start/stop feature quit working with "Start/Stop Unavailable" on the dashboard. Further investigation under the hood found that rodents had chewed off a wire connected to the negative post of the battery. I suspect that's the cause of the problem. But it's broken right at the connector body, so no possible to splice a repair. I've search all over online to find a replacement wire/cable, but have found nothing. Might be because I don't know what that part is called, or maybe not available except via dealer repair.

Does anyone have any insight on how I might find a replacement wire for this?

Hello & Welcome.

"The Earth strap" ?
Not the earth strap. There's a small black module connected to the negative post with the earth strap on top of it. The wire in question used to connect to that black module. See photo attached. You can see the severed, 2-conductor wire on the right side of the image

Aha! That's a new term I have not heard. Yes, I believe that's it. More searching turns up a replacement sensor, but not the sensor cable. But I'm on the right track now, thanks!
A good place to start your search is the Mopar Connector Repair Kit website: Mopar Connection Repair Kit
If you search by year: 2021, platform: "BV : Renegade", and filter on "Intelligent" you will find the connect kit for "SENSOR-INTELLIGENT BATTERY C1" is part number 68199267AA.

Set a trap under the car. But no takers so far....
The Germans try all sorts of stuff to deter the Marders. Hang bags of predator poop inside their hoods. Or gadgets that will gives the Marders an electrical shock. I'm not sure if anything really works.

Certain brands of cars seem to be more-susceptible to the Marders...

I have heard that the problem has gotten worse in recent years because the wire manufacturers have been using a soy-based insulation instead of vinyl. Which apparently some critters like....
