Valkyrie Off-road has the skid plates. They also have some really nice rear control arms. I run the Geolander MT in 225/65/17. KO2s will work just fine as well.
Personally I haven’t felt a need for a lift just yet. The lil toaster does 90% of what my fully built XJ does. You just need to re-think lines like raz-0 said earlier. I actually find it quit enjoyable from the “hulk smash” way the built trail rig does.
Given what you want to do I’d spring for the 5th tire for your spare and a good patch kit.
