I've looked everywhere. I was after the gross vehicle weight as I want to tow. I hoped someone could just look at the plate and give me an answer. My nearest dealer is 2 hours away. And no company likes to tell me as I'm sure they don't know.

If you are in the USA then a 4 wheel drive Renegade is rated to tow 2,000 lbs. And you can't get it in a diesel version here. Finally FYI Jeep will not offer a factory hitch on a 2 wheel drive version. You will have to sit back and wait for an aftermarket company like Curt to come up with a hitch for a 2 wheel drive Renegade.

From FCAs european document center, you can find these comprehensive specs

1500kg is listed as the towing capacity for the 2.0L diesel variant. Of all the available variants, this one has the greatest towing capacity.

It is worth noting that all engine variants including the 1.4 gas are rated at 1000kg in this particular publication, except for the 2.4L (listed as the russian version at 907kg = 2000lb)

Thanks for the information but I was after the max weight the vehicle can weigh. Including passengers, full fuel tank and roof/luggage space. I am driving to jeep today to look at the plates. In the UK you require a special licence to tow 3500kg combined vehicle and trailer. I am looking for a vehicle that saves my fiancee from taking another test.

That is normally called GVWR, search the forum for that term, it has been discussed in several threads that list the numbers by model.
