I now have all software updates done.

I have a UK spec 1.4 MultiAir Petrol Automatic 4x4. 6000 miles done since new (Oct 15).

Under no circumstances will the gearbox go into 9th gear in auto.

If selected manually - even at "German Autobahn" speeds downhill, the Shift-Up indicator illuminates and the engine and transmission complain.

I was told the last software updates would cure.

I do not believe the engine in its current state of tune can run in top gear.

There are only 97 of these cars in the UK. Any others suffering??

As far as I'm aware, there's no 9th gear on your Jeep as 1.4 engines are coupled to 7-speed DCT automatic transmissions

Oops, sorry, 6-speed. So no amount of software will see it in 9th gear!

The Longitude 1.4 is Dual clutch using 6 speed
The Limited has a 1.4 dual clutch using 6 speed BUT the 4x4 uses the 9 speed auto box

Let me reassure you. In Europe the 1.4 MultiAir Petrol Renegade Autos have the 9 speed ZF gearbox. Not a 6 speed.

The car shifts quite happily through 1 to 8 in auto and manual but refuses 9th. There is a gear indicator on the dash so I know I have 9 gears!!!
