Howdy folks

So I saw the Renegade on Jeep's site last night all the sudden and I want one!

I've been planning a new car purchase for the last year or so, I had settled on a Cherokee, but now I'm going to have to wait. I can't wait to drive one. Does anyone know when they're supposed to be hitting the lots? Will it be early like the Grand cherokee and baby grand compass last year? or will the make us wait forever? I'm impatient.

Also does anyone know if they have said about how much it will cost generally speaking? or what gas mileage will be like? I'm most likely gonna go for a Trailhawk. I'll be one of "those guys" that gets one and never takes it off the asphalt, but I just like it better... from the pics I've seen anyways...

welcome aboard @Necros, we got a pricing thread kicking around, seems the consensus is under $20K to start ($18K would be lovely) topping out at $25-26K. Keep in mind thats just inmates speculating ;)

Cool .. I just wish it wasn't such a long wait, but I waited a year for the Cherokee I may as well wait another :)

I think I would want the Trailhawk. I don't really leave the asphalt, but I would like the extra goodies just in case I do. plus the extra height and manlier tires. I hope they do one in True Blue :)

I was going to go for a Cherokee Trailhawk at first, but it's a little too pricy, so I was going to get a Latitude with the cold weather upgrade. So hopefully I can do a Renegade Trailhawk for about the same price if not cheaper :)

I'm really not a big fan of sunroofs though. Will there be a version that's just got a solid roof? I thought I'd love my soft top wrangler, but I ended up hating the road noise and it was more of an annoyance to take down and put back up that I only bothered to try it like twice before I got lazy and stopped. So I don't think I'd be into the removable roof panel idea. The big picture window thing might be cool, but I think I would prefer to just have a plain old solid roof.

Coming standard with a solid roof is going to be a must, not everyone will want it and if they don't they will feel like they're paying for something they don't want, which on an entry-level model isn't acceptable.

I'm just throwing this out there....since they want the renegade to have a slight wrangler feel, the only option might be powered or non-powered Mysky roof. Just sayin....
