I'm new to the Jeep world, currently living near Hilton Head Island in SC, moving back to Savannah in July. I wasn't even told about the Sky option when I purchased mine just a few days after arrival.. I'm kinda pissed, and now they can't even tell me when I can order roof rack bars or a trailer hitch...

Welcome! Sorry for the initial confusion, a lot of us are facing that same thing. We're still not sure about the hitch, although one member recently posted that their dealer gave them a price and they're going to look into it.

As far as roof rack bars, it depends on what model you get. I believe Lattitude and up come with Roof Rails, and you can buy bars from various vendors. Thule and Yakima seem to the be current ones that have supported models. I just bought a pair of Yakima Whispbars, so we'll see how they set up.

If you have other questions, dig around the forum and see if someone may have asked it before you.

First off welcome to the boards and congrats

Keep Calm and Jeep On. Its just more gear to spend your money on them, think about it for a second, there's no reason to be upset at someone because they're not trying to take your money ;) :D

Go aftermarket with the bars, better quality and better customer communication... I second Yak and Thule shoot them an email

I too purchased a pair of Yakima Whispbars. The install was a snap and they are robust. I really like the attachment system of the Whispbar. The bike holder mounts to the crossbars in less than 15 seconds (once set up). And I can remove it just as quickly since I don't carry a bike on top that often (I prefer to carry it inside in the back).

Did you get your Renegade from the Hilton Head Jeep dealer? And is this by chance your car? I drove there when they just got this car in, just to check em out. Love to know if this Soprt model is what you bought.

Oh and if you do have a Sport model that does not have roof rails then no problem. Suggest you get a Thule rack like the one I have for my Fiat 500L. It just clamps on to the door frames and the feet support the cross bars. I can fit 4 kayaks on mine if needed. And these cross bars will fit perfectly on a Renegade. I checked the measurements.

Sorry for the delayed response, I did get mine from Hilton Head Chrysler Dodge and Jeep. It was on the showroom floor. It's the red Latitude model. It has been so much fun to drive. I had an 05 VW Jetta that was top of the line and the Renegade, with it's electronic steering and low stance, feels even better on the road. It's not quite as quick off the line, but that's not what I was going for.

Your car was not there when I got there. I saw the white Sport model about an hour after it had come off the truck, was their first Renegade.

As of yesterday I have now seen all of the colors. I finally managed to see a yellow yesterday. Long story short I will got for red when I am ready to buy. It's the best looking color in my humble opinion. Nice color choice on your part and congrats for your new wheels.

I think mine was the first that they sold, is what they told me.. I'm just Impatiently waiting for this tow hitch mess to be figured out... I want to build a small trailer to transport my canoe on and use a hitch mount bike carrier.
