Morning,
This might be a bit of a fantasy but here goes...
Has anyone tried or even heard of a garage/person somewhere being able to relocate the oil filter on a Renegade? I have a 1.6 Diesel Multi Jet and the filter is located in the most awkward place possible, it's ridiculous and makes a massive mess when you eventually manage to yank it out!

Pros do have to go in from underneath.

Don't know if there is one made expressly for the Renegade but you might try some of the racing auto supply stores, such as Summit Racing, for a
Oil Filter Relocation Kit.

Is the orientation of the filter important at all?

no orientation doesnt matter. Just make sure you wrap the hoses or orient them so they dont get a hole rubbed in them.
Dont ask how i discovered this.

@ThroughTown . You really need to be a contortionist to change the filter. First change I did I struggled with an adjustable spanner. 2nd change I tried a low profile socket, that was hopeless as it ended up getting jammed on the metalwork. Next change I'm going to try doing it via the drivers side wheel (UK model) using the spanner in the pic. Nice and short and fits snuggly.
