Dumped a coffee on the electronic parking brake switch. Parking brake always engages when car stops and switch will not disengage

Found the part online. Looking for a little help on best way to take console apart the right way.

thanks!

W E L C O M E ! ! ! to the forum.

Until you can get the console apart...

Try;
Close all doors,
Start the Jeep,
Fasten the drivers seat belt,
Place the transmission in drive,
Tap the gas pedal. The Electronic Park Brake should disengage automatically/on its own.

Hi flipping through posts and saw this. My ‘15 Renegade came with auto parking brake feature. You have to go in to the owner’s manual to see how to disable it. And every time your dealer plugs it in for updates, it is enabled again and you have to disable it. So wondering if that is your problem rather than the coffee?

I will bite and ask the obvious.

"Have you tried pressing the brake by hand instead of trying to drive off."

Just trying to think of someothing obvious to save you replacing the brake or at least to offer a simple solution in the meantime. (y)
