Assuming basic equipment vs basic equipment of a given trim level... a Cherokee Trailhawk is just $4100 more than a Renegade Trailhawk?

With the Renegade being brand new (and likely in high demand) and the Cherokee being 2 years on the market already I can pretty much guarantee that I'd be able to buy a Cherokee for $2000-$3000 less than sticker. I like the Renegade better, but at that point I'd be dumb to buy it when for what would amount to pocket-change / month I could get a larger vehicle with (give or take) 35% more room in the back for my dogs. I'm sure they'd appreciate it.

Looks like AutoNetwork got their hand slapped by Jeep. All of the videos previously available yesterday are now all marked PRIVATE on YouTube.

I'm scared to see how that's going to translate into Canadian dollars... Well I suppose my Liberty is still holding together, could probably wait a little longer for a used Trailhawk...
Yea, I asked the same question myslef ! Then based on the numbers above, I did my little rule of thumb and comparison numbers between other US Jeep models prices and Canada and I suppose the Trailhawk (the only trim that is worth it in my opinion), will be around 28.995 Canadian $ if my math work is good.

If this is the price, then indeed, I think it will be too much for the size even if one like me is looking for a capable SUV for family routine and outdoors adventures.

The Patriot (I own a 2010 model) is not as nice in terms of design and features (no idea about durability or reliability comparison), yet the Patriot features more trunk space than the Renegade and seems more practical in that aspect...

I live in Montreal and the Renegade was on my shopping list to replace my actual Patriot 2010 but I think I will remove it to give place to more reasonable options... I might sacrifice some capability by going toward other makes and their generic AWD crossovers...

Subaru is an option for me but wife is not liking their look while the Rogue 2015 makes my wife smile... And might be replacing the Renegade on the shopping list...

That depends what's already on the TH.

A Cherokee TH can go up to $7000-$8000 above base price if you add every single item to it. Obviously the Renegade TH won't be like that or they'd be shooting their own market share in the foot.

I'm going to have to do a close comparison between the Jeep and it's competition in this segment prior to buying. Still leaning toward the Jeep as I like the fact it is made in Italy (just like me) but to get a loaded Trailhawk these leaked prices indicate it will be north of 30k. The new Honda HRV looks to be a pretty nice ride and frankly my off-road usage will be less than 1%. We like to hike, so driving up some dirt roads to the trail head will probably be the farthest off-road we get. Driving in the snow will be something a Honda vehicle should be able to handle. So I'll have to wait and see.

It just seems like the world is topsy-turvey when the American vehicle is made in Italy and the Japanese vehicle is made in America.

Was hoping the trailhawk would be 24,000 loaded. I might be buying a used wrangler unlimited instead.
Heck, around here you can buy a NEW Wrangler Unlimited for $26K. The pricing on this Renegade is ridiculous. I bet with the price and the wait time (said to be up to a few months) they will not sell very well here this year.

I am no expert in market predictions but I expect the Renegade to be a funky alternative to the Patriot in its Sport or Latitude (North edition in Canada) trims...

Therefore I think it will sell in these mentioned basic trims fairly well here in Canada but not sure the Limited and Trailhawk will offer real value (in size) for the money...

Especially the Trailhawk, I suppose it will be bought by people who have the money and need something different to show off or some serious off-road enthusiasts who can't afford the gas of the 3.6L Wrangler
