I am really thinking about trading in my 2 dr. wrangler sport to get the renegade. Reason being, the 2 dr. is just too small for me as I get older. My wife and I are hoping to have a baby within the next year or so, so getting a larger car is something I am really interested in.

My question is the space of the renegade. Can you easily fit a stroller and some other stuff in the trunk? I don't really like the cherokee and can't afford the Grand I would want, so this is the next best option since I really like the style of the Renegade, but the size is my only concern. Decent family car? Hopefully I will get to test drive one, the Jeep dealership near me only had one on the lot and it was out when I wanted to test it out.

Rear facing car seat is going to depend on the size of the front seat passenger and the layout of the car seat.

As for a stroller, that's going to be the tricky part. We went through 4 different ones with our kid no way would two of them fit reasonably. So for more substantial strollers they will need to fold up very well.

My son has a Saturn Vue, which of course is larger than the Reney, and he struggles with all the gear, car seats, etc, for his two young ones.

We have a 4 year old and a 18 month old and the renegade works just fine. We went off roading at a local construction site Saturday with the kids in their car seats and a stroller in the trunk. Compaired to the Kia Soul I had last the Renegade's trunk is huge.

I've had my 1 year old in a rear facing seat in my renny without to much issue. I'm 6"4 so I had to move seat forward a bit to clear the car seat.
It's not my preference of vehicle for family travel. But is works for short trips.

Long trips with more baby support gear we take the forster.

I don't have young kids anymore, but we rarely take the minivan anywhere with my three kids anymore (14, 11, and 9) because they want to take the Renegade. Of course, there is much more room in the van but they don't mind the space in the Renegade at all. We don't worry about car seats and strollers at this point though but the back of the Renegade is not small. I'm sure it would fit most strollers and there seems to be plenty of room in the back for carseats.

My kids are all grown up. But I suggest that you take the kids, the car seat, the stroller and the hubby/wife takes a test ride in a Renny to see just how well everyone and everything fits. Best way to say for certain for your family. Hope everything and everyone fits nicely.

only issue is we don't have the kid yet :) but the Jeep Wrangler I currently have really has no back seat so it does have to go.

I am going to try and test drive next week.

I use the Nuna baby Stroller. Bought it at Nordstrom.
I had to return the Recaro baby stroller setup too.
Nuna has a smaller base and the seat is lighter too.
It was fit to my car folding option was avilable in it so that it could easily fit into the big or small cars while a travel

I bought a Renegade last year and now my son is 19 months now, we travel quite a bit and we never have trouble fitting everything we need in the Renegade. The room upfront with the car seat installed is enough to be comfy with a little room to expand.
We do however have a few strollers because our full size is kind of big for the Renegade but it still fits and soon enough my son will be front facing so the passenger space will be even better.
I am a big fan of the Renegade and I'm not big on any other Jeep models besides the Wrangler. I'd say if you had a bigger family maybe go up a size or two. My wife actually just purchased a Cherokee though so any space issue we run into is solved Now! Good luck with your search.
