I've got a 2ltr diesel Trailhawk. Mine was in getting the ABS module replaced a couple of weeks ago and I got a 1.6 e-torq Petrol manual as a loner. I thought it was OK but struggled a bit with the manual gearbox (gearbox was very good...me thats not). They got the wrong module so its in again today and they gave me a Yellow (for Kevin's interest) 1.4 multi air petrol automatic and I am surprisingly impressed. Its fun to drive and that engine really makes you want to put your foot down.

It is surprising how quick the 1.4 turbo picks up speed. The first time I drove it in anger it impressed me. I haven't driven the 1.4 with the slush box so I can't comment on that.

Pootle along at 35-40 mph and then drop the hammer and you'll be surprised at how quick 80 mph comes up. I did in a manual box in second gear, took it to 6,000 rpm into third and when I looked at the speedo, 80 mph was hit. Oops, into 6th gear and slowed down to the 60 mph limit.

One can only guess what the 1.4 multiair turbo would be like with a remap taking it from 140 hp to 170 hp.

That's the problem. You really have to put your foot down. I would be happy with a couple mpg less and 250-300hp/tq. Just because I want to drive a small car does not mean I also need to have the most fuel efficiency at the expense of power. I wish auto manufacturers would wake up to this.

I don't think they're asleep. They gave economy a high priority because that's what many buyers do want. You could always get a different ECM to get you up closer to 200 hp, but if you want 250 a 1.4T Renegade is not the right option.

just had this email:

Thank you for your enquiry with Celtic Tuning, leaders in Electronic Engine Enhancements.

We are a global brand with a network in 20 countries worldwide and full mobile facilities in England & Wales. What sets us apart from the competition is that we are genuine software developers with the technical ability to develop bespoke software in house; whereas most other UK tuning companies are resellers of software from third party companies. Not all tuning is equal, a remap is not simply a remap, it is the end product of a lengthy development program.

All of our software is developed in our state of the art facilities with both 2WD and 4WD individual dynamometer test cells. All engine parameters are logged to ensure we provide the safest available software upgrades for your vehicle which are also fully MOT compliant.

The Jeep Renegade 2015> takes the power from 138bhp up to 170bhp and the torque from 170lb/ft up to 205lb/ft. This stage of software is designed as a software upgrade only meaning it is all within safe tolerances of the engine and drivetrain and requires no hardware modifications. For testimonials of our work please follow the link: View Testimonials.

We provide all stages of tune through to full custom setup so if you have specific requirements please just ask. On many applications we also cater for larger turbos and injector upgrades so if you are looking for ultimate performance then we have the knowledge and ability to do just that.

To provide added peace of mind for customers with vehicles still under warranty, we provide a FREE 12 month's insurance backed supplementary warranty: Download Warranty Information. Full terms and conditions apply, please see website for details.

The cost of the remap is £395.00 all-inclusive for which we travel to your location whether it is home or work place. This comes with a 14 day money back guarantee which gives you plenty of time to ensure it is exactly what you are after.

If you wish to go ahead with the remap please forward us your contact details (address, Post Code and Phone number) and we will be in touch to arrange a booking very soon. Alternatively if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask as our technical team who will be able to answer any questions you may have.

Yours Sincerely
The Celtic Tuning Team
