Got my letter in the mail last night. Here it is with the me specific stuff cropped out.
Set up an appointment with my dealer, their first reaction was "the letter says that parts are not yet available". Tells you something that that is their canned answer for a recall. My portal literally says parts are available. The stupid fan has been out for over a year now.
But the letter gets to the real reason why it is getting fixed. They don't care about us, but it affects emissions which they are in deep doodoo for fudging numbers on. So....
The way I read it is that the dealer will inspect your vehicle. If it has the bushing fan, you will get a ball bearing fan. If it has the ball bearing fan they will leave it as is and maybe direct you to seek reimbursement. Either way the dealer will file the bit of compliance paperwork, which is what FCA really needs.
