It is my understanding that on the 2015 Trailhawk which I have, the only way to get rear cupholders is to have the folding 40/20/40 rear seats. Does anyone have any aftermarket solutions they have seen for a cup holder?:|

You can fit bottles in the door cubbies but an open cup will spill. Haven't seen a decent aftermarket solution.

My solution, YMMV: No food or drinks allowed. Less mess to clean. :)
Same here. Food/drink in any of my vehicles has never been allowed. Bottled water is as far as we go. Just finished getting rid of a couple of 20+yr old cars without a single stain anywhere.

I've used the Contigo autoseal travel mugs for both front and rear and have yet to get a spill even when they are knocked over. Plus, they are slim enough to fit in most door side pockets.

I can't comment on them fitting in the vehicle because mine hasn't arrived yet (sigh), and I know the original poster is looking for a cupholder solution but I have to put my two cents in any time someone mentions these travel mugs. It's a terrible habit and I should really be on some sort of commission. :)
These are hands-down the best travel mugs I've ever used. NO spilling, easy to drink from, and they hold both heat and cold for a really long time. And if you're in Canada I know you can get them at Costco for way cheaper than elsewhere...under $20 for a 2-pack. And at that price you can ignore the "no dishwasher" warning and toss 'em in the top rack. I just run some hot water through the lid first if I've had anything but water in there. Okay I'll stop my pitch there.
If I come across any true cupholder solutions I'll be sure to share...so you can put your new travel mugs in there.

But the question remains, where do you store those drink holders or other drinks if you don't pay extra for the 40/20/40 back seat the comes with the 2 center rear drink holders? The ones in the rear doors are at an angle. So that eliminates all drinks without a good top on them. Forget open cans. Got ideas, suggestions?

The Contigos are sealed, so they work in the rear angled holders.

For all other cups, yeah, you'll need to get one of those plastic things that strap on to the window slot or something. Looks like ass.

LMAO, what species are you looking at that has an ass like that. lol

Sorry couldn't resist. >:D

So I take it the rear doors have the cup holder area at an angle?

I actually sprung for the Popular Equipment Group in my build, but the factory didn't do it. I don't know if they ran out of power seats or 40/20/40 rear seats. What I ended up with was 9-speaker, passive entry/keyless remote-start, no 40/20/40, no climate control and about a $100 lower invoice.

Bell multipack cup holders fit very badly. The door is just too thick between the window crack and the interior.

This type might fit better, I haven't tried it on:

hmm...anyone else run into this issue? I ordered the popular equipment group as well but mine hasn't arrived yet. Hoping I won't have the same problem because $100 off won't cut it.

I feel the pain...

Was ready to purchase the jeep renegade latitude because it's a manual transmission and find out there are no cup holders in the rear (except for the bin type holders in the door which are only good for bottled water at best). They don't even offer the 40/20/20 in this model otherwise I would have gone with that to get the cup holders. How can there not be any cup holders in the rear?! I've got kids and they always have a drink on them. I need a universal type cup holder that can hold all kinds of cups, ie Starbucks, fountain drinks, etc. I really like the suv though and am so disappointed in the lack of cup holders.

I was looking at two type of cup holders, but haven't pulled the trigger on either yet. One sits on the floor between the front and rear seats and the other straps or sit on the rear seat like a center counsel. Both are running an average of $100.00 each, so I have been loooking for a cheaper version.
