Rear Wiper blade replacement

After searching the internet and finding out they want you to buy a whole new arm with blade. I decided to just pick up 16" all they had in stock for only $4.00 at Walmart and change the blade. Super easy and didn't even take the arm off.

Just slip the old one out by bending up on one end and pulling out. Take the new blade, cut to size, slide metal rails in new blade. Slide whole blade back in arm.

Easy as that.

Just a heads up for anyone needing to replace there. At 52000 miles mine started to dry rot and fall apart. I never use it.

I bought the entire arm replacement for under 20 bucks on Amazon. Took two minutes to replace.

For those looking, Rock Auto carries a 10 inch replacement rear wiper that fits perfectly. It's the Anco AN AR-10W. It's only $4.76 (much cheaper than the Mopar). Installed in about a minute.

Rock Auto didn't have the AR-10W but they DID have the Trico Exact Fit 10-J. Trying to find the 10" wiper currently is not available in local auto parts stores, Walmart, Amazon. I didn't check the price for the blade at the dealer because I was just so annoyed at what they gave my father-in-law for a replacement cost. They recommended a cabin filter replacement and rear wiper replacement. I don't know which was which but it was $71 and $92 for them. It was $24 for the blade and filter from Rock Auto.

Now for those that do it. The Trico Exact fit is NOT an exact fit! It's 10", it snaps in BUT it's offset by a little bit, just enough so that it scrapes the bottom of the spoiler as it reaches the top. I ended up doing what jjp735i did. I removed the old blade from the factory one by just bending slightly to slide out. Did the same from new one and replaced. You can save the headaches and do that to start. I think I had done that at one time on my CRV also. Just jut the new one to length and slid it in like the older snap in with tab lock replacements.

I used a small flat tip to put a slight pressure at where it snaps in. Since it doesn't lift far off the glass and my luck with this thing lately I didn't want to force and snap and hit the glass etc. Maybe after it's done a couple times it's not as tight but this was never done and was tight.

The wiper mounted picture is the "new" Trico mounted in position and factory loose so you can see the offset difference. The scratch is what it did to the spoiler.
