Thats normal. All Fiats do that. It is so you can see out your rear window when backing up when you have your car sitting out in the rain.
Thats normal. All Fiats do that. It is so you can see out your rear window when backing up when you have your car sitting out in the rain.So I've been driving different soft top wranglers over the last 10 years so I haven't had a rear wiper in a long time, so maybe this is a stupid question.
Anyone else notice that when your front wipers are on, and you put the Renegade in reverse the rear wiper automatically clears the rear windshield?
At first I thought there was something wrong. But this morning I spent about 5 minutes putting the car in park, then reverse, then park, then reverse, then park, etc to see if it would always come on.
Can you disable this? What about backing on the trail with a rear window full of dirt, perfect sandpaper for the rear glass.
If you run off the wipers you can or you can remove the arm.Can you disable this? What about backing on the trail with a rear window full of dirt, perfect sandpaper for the rear glass.
I hardly ever use my rear-view to back up. It's a good skill to have for the day that your vehicle is filled to the top and you can't see out the back window at all regardless of how clean it is.Thats normal. All Fiats do that. I think it is even a greater skill when you are able to see as much as you can when backing up.I hardly ever use my rear-view to back up. It's a good skill to have for the day that your vehicle is filled to the top and you can't see out the back window at all regardless of how clean it is.
Tried it today since it was raining. And sun of a gun, the rear wiper does indeed turn on while reversing. And not intermittently either; steady wiping for as long as you're backing up.. . . Anyone else notice that when your front wipers are on, and you put the Renegade in reverse the rear wiper automatically clears the rear windshield? . . .
When you activate the rear washer, can you hear anything? When I activate mine (on my Scenic) I can hear the pump. Several cars I have had you can hear the pump.Is the rear window supposed to have water/window fluid come out to clear with the wiper? It appears on the switch that the symbol indicates that there is supposed to be window washing fluid that is supposed to come out - but I can't seem to make my fluid come out... anyone?
Thieving lowlife scum b*st*rd. Is there a plastic cap from another make/model that would have fitted it? Surely it can't be a Jeep only part, considering how many vehicles have rear wash wipes fitted. I can believe that you had to buy the complete assembly just for a piece that would cost pennies. There is the reason why. They make more cash selling a complete assembly than a small part for pennies.Just to give you all a heads up some one stole the plastic cap on the rear wiper and you can not get that part! I had to buy the whole wiper arm!
It's normal.Sorry if I'm posting the obvious. But yesterday it was raining, I started the engine, turned on the wipers, put the manual in reverse, and the rear wiper came on!
Stopped and tried turning it off, and went thru the same comedy routine several times before I figured it out.
Since I couldn't find this in the OM, and haven't read about it here, do I have an electrical short or is it me. Be gentle.
