This is where you ask to see the service manager, and ask him/her how the oil level looks to them.
I did ask to speak to the supervisor/manager and they said there was no manger or supervisor that day and that one would call me back. I said they never call back and they didn’t. Went back today and explained this, also asked that someone look at my oil because I think I need oil added but the technician has made me feel like I don’t know how to read the dipstick! They will do the test again at next oil change however, they told me I cannot check the oil myself beforehand and “break the seal” 🤦♀️ - the little piece of orange putty that will press right back down…This is where you ask to see the service manager, and ask him/her how the oil level looks to them.
I totally feel you! The MPG on the sticker stated 21 city and 29 highway with a combined 24 city/hwy...I cant even get past 17.9! And that's with extremely conservative driving, I mean putting it into neutral in-between stop signs to cruise and judging distance as to not use the gas in the city!!! Also this is what I found today, so I had read a bulletin that said the Jeep would fall the test if the oil was at the halfway mark between the full line and the add line. So I was in there telling this tech that even if the oil was “at the fill line” it would still fail. However, today I go to find the same notice explaining how to do the test and there is one that is dated Jan 2021 that says “at or above the full line” passes! The other bulletin was dated May 2020. Both from that same “static…” website. Did they change the test parameters or is the first one for just the software update? At the fill line at 1500 seems like a lot of oil to lose and still pass! I’m in my 3rd year of law school and this has my wheels spinning! My gas mileage isn’t anywhere near as “expressly” stated and advertised too…. My first new car, this was a big purchase for me. Got me very upset!

I never received a letter however my 2018 Renegade looses most of the oil between oul changes and no one can explain why. Now while driving it will for no reason switch to neutral. These issues are becoming scaryIs this legit? I just got a letter saying theres a recall on my 2018 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk about a problem about oil consumption. The letter says they need to:
Reprogram powertrain module
Anyone else got that letter? Im gonna call my closest dealer after the holydays probably..

If your 2018 Renegade has the 2.4 engine it should be a part of this customer satisfaction bulletin on oil consumption. Our 2017.has used 1 to 1.5 quarts between oil changes since new. We received the bulletin last fall and took it in for the test. It failed and they ordered a new engine and are installing it right now. Contact a dealer (one you trust, we have two near us but will not go to them. We drive 45 miles to a dealer we like) and ask them about the W80 service bulletin.I never received a letter however my 2018 Renegade looses most of the oil between oul changes and no one can explain why. Hey everyone, I know this thread has been around a while but I moved and it delayed me getting notice of the W80 Recall. I finally was able to get an appointment for my 2016 latitude and get it into the dealer mopar recommended. My question is did anyone have to pay for the service?
I spoke twice with them over the phone as my original appointment had to be changed but not once was I advised I would be paying anything. The service department asked me when my last oil change was and advised they should do one when I come in for the recall. When I showed up they didn’t mention anything about it costing anything and not until it was done did they present me with a $145 bill.
Is this normal? I thought with recalls and any work done for it there would be no charge or am I just crazy?

Call your local dealer and give them the vin off of it and they should be able to tell you. They have to do an oil consumption test first then if the test falls within the range they will replace the enginesorry if I’m a bit off topic. Son is looking for car and likes 2018 Renegade with 94k miles. We got the carfax on vehicle and I see the W80 notice on 1/14/2021 - Status :remedy available- how can I tell if and what was done to this Renegade?
