Rear Seat Center Seatbelt Buckle
Models
2015 (BU) Jeep® Renegade
NOTE: This recall applies only to the above vehicles built to export market specifications (sales code YAB) from October 06, 2014 through January 21, 2015 (MDH 100600 through 012100).
IMPORTANT: Some of the involved vehicles may be in Dealer new vehicle inventory. Dealers should also consider this requirement to apply to used vehicle inventory and should perform this recall on vehicles in for service. Involved vehicles can be determined by using the VIP inquiry process.
Subject
The center rear seat seatbelt buckle on about 2,800 of the above vehicles may unlatch during certain crash conditions. This could increase the risk of injury to rear seat occupants during a crash.
Repair
The rear seat seatbelt buckle assembly must be replaced on all involved vehicles.
