I have a 2017 jeep renegade trailhawk. First time starting in day with remote start the engine will crank and not fire. When I get into vehicle it says remote start disabled, start to reset. It does it everyday. I have brought to dealer three times and they claim they can’t recreate problem. I have this happening on video every time. Any ideas would be great. Thank you.

Seems to only do it on slopes. Pointed up or down. After some testing I came to that conclusion. That makes sense why dealer can’t recreate. Is there a fuel drain back valve?

Hello Flyin Ryan,

We're sorry to hear you're having a hard time with your Renegade. Has this been formally documented within our system. Although we cannot guarantee a certain outcome, we'd be glad to get this over to a Case Specialist for further handling.

I already am in touch with Benjamin “case specialist” I disconnected battery and am currently not having issue anymore. Although it has warmed up. I will be checking next week when weather gets cold again. I hope I solved this.

Same problem here

Our Jeep mechanic told us that if the weather is cold it won't start. The temps here are about in the 30's so not particularly cold. Where I live temps dip much lower and last year we had no problem. The specialist we spoke to was just matter of fact and said it won't work in cold temps. I asked then what is the point of having auto start if it won't cannot be used to heat up the car on cold mornings.

Just tried this morning with temps of 20 and this morning it worked. This makes no sense to me and I feel the specialist was lying and didn't want to be bothered. I will not purchase another Jepp if this is the customer service.

Hi Jasmine, I own a 2017 Renegade here at Ottawa Canada which I bought from the SouthBank Jeep dealership in Aug 2018. I have had issues starting the car periodically ever since I bought it. Having the same issues with some of the others here in this message thread. I had the dealership look at the issue 4 times previously and the vehicle is currently again with them as I write. The whole experience has left me very disappointed. Last Thursday, I was stuck outside late evening in freezing cold temperatures (around 20 F) for 2 hours as the car would not start and had to get the vehicle towed. The dealership had replaced parts and reprogrammed the setup, however the issue continues to persist. Not sure what they replace this time round. This seems to be a common issue with Jeep Renegade owners. Will you be able to provide some insight to me or the dealership what may be the cause of this problem and how to resolve it? I can email you the VIN # separately if you need it. Thanks for looking into this. Rio

It sounds like low fuel pressure.
crank, no start, it builds enough fuel pressure to start on the next attempt.

Usually it will take a few hours of sitting (waiting for the fuel pressure to bleed off) to recreate the problem, sometimes they (the dealer) will have to keep it overnight to recreate the issue.
ALSO, there might be a recall for your year Renegade for the fuel pump. I would ask, it only affected a few Renegades. I would check to see if yours is one of those affected.
