Hi everyone,

The location where I camp has a lot of Pine Trees!

Does anyone have a good remedy on getting tree sap off my Renny without ruining the paint.

I know that rubbing alcohol will remove tree sap off clothing. (It will even remove it off of clothing that has gone through the laundry).

I'm reluctant to try rubbing alcohol on my Renny for fear of ruining the paint.

Any suggestions is much appreciated.

That may be a good idea if your Renny is parked under trees a lot.
You may also want to wax you Jeep after all that elbow grease. And don't put boiling hot water directly on your car. Maybe I should have said a bit above warm water.
If you don't mind paying a bit you can ask auto-parts stores if they have tree sap remover. They should be formulated for sap removal without damaging your car.

Rubbing alcohol will not hurt the paint. The top layer is actually a clear coat and the paint pigment is under this layer. Actually any petroleum product will remove the sap. There are specially formulated products just for this purpose.
